Booked via Rick and paid for accomodation by bank transfer. Prior to arrival I got an email from Jill - the property manager based in Cyprus who advised me on directions and I arranged to meet her at the apartment when my flight landed. I arrived at around 12 midnight - Jill was waiting for me and explained everything I needed to know about the apartment and the local area - there is also a large user manual in the apartment which had lots of useful information about the local area. Jill couldnt have been more helpful and the directions were very easy to follow - even at night on my own!
The apartment is huge - very spacious, with a balcony to the front which looks down towards the sea (not really a sea view.. you can see the sea in the distance between 2 buildings) and to the back there is a larger balcony which has furniture and overlooks the pool area. The apartment has its own undercover parking and stair up to the 2nd floor where the apartment covers the entire floor - no neighbours makes it great!! Lovely and quiet!!! The front of the apartment faces Amore hotel which has a pool and bar that you can use, but the apartment pool is private and large and clean, I was the only person using it the whole time I was there!!!
The apartment itself has leather couches which convert into a double bed, a TV, satalite with lots of english film channels and also a DVD player. All rooms have air conditioning, and we also had fans which I prefer to use as they are cheaper to run and better for the environment. I am sure the aircon comes in very useful though in hotter months!!!
The kitchen is fully equipt with everything you could need, including a 4 ring hob, full oven and also a microwave - aswell as a brilliant dishwasher and washing machine and a tall fridge freezer. The dining table seats 6 and we used it every day as it was too hot to sit on the balcony for meals. the back balcony gets sun from around 10am until 6pm!!
both bedrooms had fully fitted modern wardrobes.. there is also a selection of books and dvds in the apartment to use along with cooler bags, ice packs etc.
I had the most fantastic holiday - so relaxing - and due to the apartment being so well equiped we only ate out in the evening which was very cheap!!! There is also a local beach - Firemans cove, which was lovely and protected, there were many children at this beach and it is family orientated. The next cove along is signposted watersports from the main road and is also very lovely cove with water sports available. All the beaches here are sandy and safe.
I would definately recommend hiring a car to explore. I drove everywhere - all the way to Agia Napa and Nissi beach (abour 20 minutes) and to Protaras and fig tree bay (10 minutes). Cape Greko, and lots of lovely coves and beaches!! I would recommend the 5euro boat trip from agai Napa harbour - it only lasts 1 1/2 hours but it was great for seeing the coastline from the sea and swimming off the boat at Markonnis bay. Also I would recommend a lovely restaurant which was on the road from the harbour up to the square in Agia Napa on the left side of the road called "Raphaels".. we got the 8Euro special of garlic bread and a pork kebab and it was the best meal we had on our holiday.
In Kapparis there are a few restaurants - there is "Faleros" on the corner which was very nice food, my dad got the mussles and said they were delicious. They do serve some cypriot food too - however my favourites of Aphelia and Tahini were not on the menu. A main was around 12Euro and a pint was 3.20Euro. There was also a local cypriot taverna across the street (i think it was called twilight) - run by Georgios.. this was a nice local taverna.. the other pubs on the street were english bars which we dont tend to visit when abroad! I would also highly recommend the huge 24 hour bakery which is on the round about as you enter Kapparis - the food is brilliant, cakes amazing, bread delicious and the Baklava was the best i have tasted!! They also serve hot food to take away including a whole roast chicken for 8euro and Aphelia for about 3 people for 6euro. The potatoes are delicious too!! All in all highly recommended - i will definately be visiting again!!! thank you Rick and Jill for making our holiday so special.
