We had a great stay. Big lodge, but still with a nice atmosphere. Great buffet with breakfast and dinner. Very nice activities with knowledgeable guides! Nice location with some animals close by and only a few meters away from the Namib Naukluft park entry. We can fully recommend this location.

We had one night here as part of our Rovos rail trip. The individual bungalow rooms were comfortable and clean and had what we needed. Some were quite a walk in the heat from the main hotel area.
Lunch on our arrival was a poor quality buffet but we had a major bbq dinner for the whole train in the bush which was spectacular. Also a breakfast out the following morning
I guess as nobody will be staying for long and it is in the desert it’s to be expected that it feels very in personal but for us it didn’t detract from our visit
We found the guides on the drives to be excellent
At the time of year we visited it was extremely hot during the day and extremely cold in the mornings and evenings so clothing layers are needed. When going out on drives definitely wear sunglasses and have a scarf to tie around your face and head as the vehicles are open and a lot of sand and dust is thrown up on the drives.

We loved the little details that made the lodge luxurious for our taste. The damp towels at check-in may not feel important from the home perspective but after a sandy day in the desert, they were divine. The lodge seemed popular but was quiet and peaceful.
Special acknowledge for the stir fry at dinner, it was so good and the lady cooking it was helpful and skillful.

This lodge lives off its location near the dunes and does not pay enough attention to the service levels and quality of accomodation. As a customer we felt as though we were being accommodated in a fixed regime of service without any flexibility. We would not return as the eating was dining by numbers and too much of the service was too strict including eating times etc.

Dinner is served as a buffet in the time-frame from 19h00 until 21h30 which gives guests ample time to leisurely dine and is not extremely strict?

Wow, wow, wow- have stayed in a large number of lodges, but you guys just know how things work. Have stayed in more expensive lodges as well this year but your service is the best. Everyone is so friendly, the rooms have everything you need and comfortable beds, big showers. Amazing views, quiet mornings just the desert around you, food was amazing. The avtivities and tour guides were fantastic. Cannot fault one single thing here, except we were sorry to leave....
Tip to future travellers to the area, Sossusvlei Lodge has a large number of wonderful activities, book with them directly. Do not book via Viator.com as there are tour operators that will completely rip you off, unfortunately happened to us where the tour operator charged us almost 3x what Sossusvlei Lodge ask...
