This lodge has a great location for anyone wanting to visit the dunes, Deadvlei, and Sesriem Canyon. It is right by the gate to the Namib Nakluft National Park. It is really beautiful, and the rooms (which are individual cottages) are large and luxurious for hotel rooms. There is a safe and a coffee maker in the room, as well as air conditioning.

The lodge has a small pool which is very cold, but that is refreshing after returning from the dunes. The map of Africa on the bottom of the pool was a nice touch.

The meals are out of this world. Dinner and breakfast are buffet style. At dinner, there are many choices of meat, grilled to order. There is “regular” meat, although I didn’t try any of that with so many exotic (to me) choices of game. In the two dinners, I had ostrich, zebra, oryx, springbok, warthog, and crocodile.

Our room had a desert view, and it was beautiful. There was also a lovely view of the sunset from the rooftop above the bar.

There was a small waterhole that could be viewed from the dining area. I didn’t see anything there, but I did see guinea fowl on the property.

The design of the main lodge area was breathtaking. The buildings appeared to be made of adobe. The individual cottages looked like adobe huts with canvas, tented tops (although that was on the outside. The interior had a regular ceiling). Each cottage has a small porch.

The floors were tile, which was nice and cool. I did have an issue, though, in that I stepped on a piece of broken glass on the floor (I was not cut, fortunately), and I later found another.

The wifi (available in the reception and bar areas) was spotty, but then we were in the Namibian desert to spend a lot of time online.

Overall, we loved this place, and I'd highly recommend it.

Room Tip: We were in 131, and we liked it. It was far enough from the main area to be quiet, and it had a goo...

Really good individual lodge accommodation, large bedroom, sitting area and bathroom with bath, shower and double basin. Outlook of bush, desert and wildlife, a waterhole which had lighting at night for watching wildlife coming to drink. Outside candlelit dining with excellent food all on grills and barbeques being freshly cooked as guests chose what they would like with a salad bar and dessert area inside. Minutes away from the Dunes area.

Quite busy in the common areas (a lot of groups stay at this lodge because it is just outside the gates of Sossusvlei), but quiet and comfortable room. We had the last building on the grounds with a nice look at Ellim Dune. Dinner was barbecue with a lot of choice and the food was splendid. Very friendly staff.

We enjoyed a two-night stay at the lodge with our small tour group. The contemporary setting is magnificent and suited to its desert surroundings. What an experience!

The individual bungalows are modern, clean, and well appointed with large bathrooms. However we consistently had problems controlling the air conditioning; maintenance workers tried fixing the problem, but it never was totally fixed. The in-room safe simply didn’t work properly. The directions for its use were convoluted and confusing, in spite of staff showing us how it worked. Other folks in our tour group had the same problem. In spite of these issues, we enjoyed our bungalow very much.

Dinner buffet was amazing, especially if you enjoy sampling a variety of game meat. The outdoor setting under the stars added to the experience. Breakfasts were quite good, but couldn’t compare with the incredible dinners. Wi-Fi is spotty and only available at common areas. However, you don’t go to the Namib Desert to spend lots of time online. This lodge is well located for easy access to the entrance of the park.

we spent two nights with our 4 kids at Sossusvlei Lodge in Sesriem, mainly because we wanted to enter the park an sunrise. Especially due to the bad roads in that part of Namibia it was a wise decision - rather not drive for an hour before entering the park if you want to to enjoy the perfekt light in the early morning or even climb the Big Daddy. The breakfast at the lodge was okay, the dinner with good choices and lot of bbq meat was great, the sundowner nice. Only the bar was a bit boring. We can recomment the lodge even if it is a bit too large for our tastewith too many "bus tourists"
