What an amazing experience, we had 2 nights at Sossusvlei Lodge and they were exceptional. From the moment we arrived we were looked after to perfection. Our lodge (131) was perfect, it was quiet and looked out over the reserve, there is nothing quite like looking out from your lodge and the only thing you can see ahead of you is open spaces and animals (if you are lucky). The dinners are a particularly special treat, the candelight at all the tables and the level of service are to be experienced. As a vegetarian I was worried about having food to eat but I left each night having eaten far too much delicious food! My partner loves his meat and tried several different varieties and said they were all great.

We did an early morning half day tour out to Sossusvlei itself through the lodge and it was fantastic, I can't recommend it highly enough. We also did a sundowner tour on the lodge property and it was very special to watch the sun set while drinking and eating nibblies prepared for us.

If only everyone could visit Sossusvlei, bot the Lodge and the park, it is a very special place, one I will hold in my heart for the rest of my days.

We didn`t stay here, we just ate lunch here for the two days we stayed in Sossusvlei. But from what i saw a very well run lodge with great staff and of course beautiful surroundings. I can highly recommend the food at least, the lunch buffet was plentyful, very good selection, and tasted very good! Also, free wi-fi is a plus!

We spent 2 nights at Sossusvlei Lodge. The lodge is looking magnificent as I assume it had a recent refurb. The rooms are lovely and looked brand new. The selection of game dishes each evening was a treat for those with an adventurous palate. The lodge is perfectly situated to go and visit the Sesriem Canyon, Sossusvlei etc and all cane be conveniently arranged at the lodge or done on ones own.

We had a very comfortable 2 night stay. The lodge and rooms are well appointed and comfortably large with wonderful sunrise and sunset views over the desert and the nearby mountains. The buffet meals were plentiful and catered for most tastes - but they might have become a little repetitive over a longer stay. The staff are courteous, professional and well informed. Overall this was a pleasant place to eat at and sleep at within a reasonable driving distance from DeadmansVlei, the huge sand dunes and Sossusvlei itself. A few small criticisms of the room - the kettle cord is so short the kettle has to be booked on the floor. And the whitened glass door - it was full moon and the room was light enough all night to read without any lights on! Lastly the matress was a little soft for me so with that and the amount of light in the room the quality of my sleep was not as good as it could have been.

We were staying at the camp next door and were advised to go to the lodge for dinner. On arrival we checked whether we needed a reservation or were welcome to join, we were told we were welcome. However after the kind waiter had been helping us and was showing to a table, the Maître d' almost shoved us and the waiter aside, changed our table to an arbitrary table in the cold wind and basically looked down his nose at us. After a while we asked if we could be moved somewhere warmer as we were freezing - this created issues for him and he huffed and puffed as if this was an absolute shocker of a request. AT one point when returning from the buffet with my meal, I arrived at the doorway at the same time as this Maître d' and he shoved his way through almost knocking me over. Food was great (although I was a sick as a dog the following day), the setting was beautiful and the waitering staff were fabulous - the Maître d' however should be hauled over the coals. Shocking attitude.
