“Great experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2016

From our tented lodge by the river bed, dried up though, we could see wild Oryxes strolling right in front of our tent.

There was no TV or wifi in the tent, but we had everything we needed for our 2 night stay, tea and coffee, a safe, a spacious bathroom with hot water shower. We were surprised to have turn down service when we returned to our room after dinner. There was a swimming pool, quite small, but we didn't get to use it.

Wifi connection in the reception was not steady. Connection was very slow when there were too many people trying to get online but it seemed to be a common problem in many of the hotels in Namibia.

Locationwise, its very close to the entrance of the national park.

Most impressive was the quality of the food whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. They were all served in buffet style with lots of choices of salad, fruits and cheese. For two nights in a row, grilled zebra, oryx, springbok, kudu meat were available.

Room Tip: Ask for the front row tents where one could get close up view of the wild Oryxes

Dear A L,
Thank you for the great review! Glad you enjoyed our location, the roaming wildlife and the quality and variety of our buffets! The wifi connections is dependent on our national telephone lines that is not always very stable.
We are looking forward to welcome you back!
Best wishes,

Friendly staff, good food, good service at check in and dinner but can do with more staff at breakfast - had to ask couple of times for certain items. Accommodation adequate. Sossusvlei definitely worth a visit - road from Luderitz a challenge

We stayed here on a group tour and it was our first experience in Lodge accommodation in Namibia. From the welcome drink and refreshing hot towel on arrival right through to the knock on the door as our wake up call, nothing was too much trouble. We struck a day of high winds which made everything very dusty. The Lodge packed a great hamper for our breakfast. Food at the Lodge was served buffet style, with a great barbecue selection in the evening. Our host was Simon for the sunset drive. He was very knowledgeable and kept us all entertained throughout.

Room Tip: All are tent and attached bathroom facilities.

Lovely rooms, excellent food, perfect position and friendly and helpful staff throughout the lodge area.
We stayed here for two nights in Aug 2016 and we loved every minute of our stay.
Even myself as a guide, I was treated so well, and was assisted with all my requests to please my guests.
Even though I was given a "house" for the last night due to the lodge being full, the "house" was clean, organized and comfortable for me to stay in.
Well done to all staff at Sossusvlei lodge, always a stunning experience!

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely

Excellent setting at the Sesriem gate of Naukluft Park. It s great as we left 6am in the mornings to the Dunes. Accomodation tents well equipped. Service above excellent.. Food brilliant, good choice clever recycling, wide variety. Bedding great. Bathroom average. Room could be cleaner, but difficult with the dust and sand.
We did not have a private and quiet tent which were available , due to the booking agent at Taleni Africa. Ensure that you choose your tent as per plan of the resort. the layout. We were awake every night from the Generator as our tent was to close to the Dining room area. That was dissapointing for 3 nights as we have travelled for many years and stayed in several countries and battled with the booking agent. This we blame Taleni Africa for as staff on site were brilliant and knowledgeable. The guides were also excellent. F and B and Restaurant Managers brilliant. They went the extra mile for visitors. Karl Heinz GM of resort on site also very helpful.

Room Tip: If you book via Taleni Africa, choose your tent on the resort plan if privacy and quiet is important...
