Shout out to the team at Snaefellsnes Excursions out of Arnarstopi, Iceland for a bucket list adventure up to the top of glacier-capped stratovolcano Snæfellsjökull in a snowcat. They were complete pros - knowledgeable - with a safety first approach. The views were breathtaking. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

My wife and I had a small bus tour with Eastwest tours of the Snaefellsnes peninsula. Our driver Ivar had a host of knowledge, gave the right amount of info (no rambling on!) and stopped at the right places for a coffee and a bathroom break, super light lunch and a brilliant farmhouse buffer dinner (included in the price.)

The scenery and lava fields were amazing and the rain and mist added to the mystique of the trolls. We especially liked that Ivar drove anticlock wise with the sea next to us.

This is a 'must do' and will give you a wonderfull overview of Iceland in one day. It is a long day but worth every penny. You will not be disappointed.

If you are on a self-drive, try to break this trip into two days to really enjoy the amazing scenery - there are a number of hotels along the way.

If you are travelling to Iceland for the first time you should make time for Snaefellsness Peninsula. It is amaziningly diverse in its beauty and different than areas closer to Reykjavik.

We went up with Hjarki and he was a very nice guy. We first drove up by a huge 4WD and afterwards with a Snowmobile.
We had a view that I never will forget. We did take a lot of pictures but seeing in real is above and beyond.
It was expensive. We paid 7.900 ISK but it was worth the money.

This visit was included in a tour of 11 hours booked with Gray Line. It was worthy because it's quite far from Reykjavik, if you don't have a car you'll miss it. This tour had lots of short stops( like half an hour-45 min)but very interesting. These cliffs were at Arnarstapi, an small village.
