Our interaction with Carlo, the host, throughout the process was one of the most positive and personal host engagements we have had, in many years of renting holiday accommodation all over Europe and Africa. His earliest mails to us included links to many places of interest in the area. It was great to see him waiting for us at the ferry when we arrived. He walked us up the small alley and slight slope to the apartment - and let us in and showed us around. The apartment itself is modern and fresh, decorated with flair and charm, to reflect the theme of the famous boat race on the lake, the Centomiglia. We particularly liked: the restful blue, grey and white décor; the storage space; use of the washing machine in the shared space downstairs; the crisp cotton bedlinen and the big pile of towels. There is plenty of kitchen equipment should you wish to make meals - and the fridge is big. Even though the bathroom seems small at first glance, it is very cleverly designed - and the shower has plenty of space - not to mention a powerful stream of good, hot water. In addition, apartment has a lot of useful material to help you plan your time in the lovely lakeside town of Gargnano.
We absolutely loved the apartment - and our stay in Gargnano. It gives very easy access to the rest of the little town and its many nice cafes and restaurants - as well as having a nearby grocery for breakfast basics (and much more, if you need it). A big thank you to Carlo (and Luana, who I am sure we will meet next visit) for a great stay in a very special place - you live in a piece of paradise!
