My husband and I and two other couples visited this resort for 6 nights in January. We booked through TripGuy.com and all went very smoothly. The transfer from the airport to the hotel was great and we were welcomed back by Ricardo, the head bellman, who feels like an old friend. (this was our 8th or 9th visit to the Grand). We did not get oceanfront rooms this time but had a nice view of the quiet pool. The rooms were great as always and the Welcome Back gifts were thoughtful. My only complaint was the water pressure in the shower and how it would go really hot then really cold. But we kinda learned to live with it. The occupancy was really low and we missed the swim up bar but we still met a lot of nice people and used the barstools anyway even though the pool water was really cold. The staff did a great job around the pool and we enjoyed the guy cooking the fresh tacos etc by the pool. Yasuki took good care of us and Ali made us laugh a lot. I missed seeing Daniel in the Lobby Bar, only saw him once there. So not sure what was up with that. He should be there all the time. Our butlers took good of us too and had my ice in the room every afternoon.
The golf course and staff there were great. We got to see Wilbert, Teo, Sergio, Franco and Auturo as well as others from our past visits.
The course was in great shape and we actually saw a four foot Boa near one of the greens one day. That was new for us.
All in all it was another successful trip to the Grand.More
