“So peaceful!”
Reviewed 20 September 2016 for a stay in December 2014

Perfect get away at any time of the year. Hidden away from the world, amazingly quiet and peaceful, perfect antidote to London life. Beautiful log fires, woods for exploring and lovely village within an easy drive. Highly recommend it.

“Perfect place to unwind”
Reviewed 28 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This is the third time we have stayed at La Daby, and the second stay in Lauriers. There are four houses on this fabulous wooded and terraced site, all sharing a good-sized pool at the centre of the property. We like Lauriers because its position is shaded and catches the breeze on hot days. Facilities are excellent; the house is very well equipped (washing machine and dishwasher and decent cooking utensils). Le Beasset is close by and has two excellent supermarkets and a weekly market, and there are very good local restaurants and vineyards. The seaside is a few miles away; Sanary sur Mer being a particular favourite of ours. One word of caution though; this is a very rural site (which is its charm) and access paths to some of the houses are uneven, so it isn't suitable for anyone unsteady on their feet!

“Very relaxing”
Reviewed 13 April 2015 for a stay in May 2014

I've visited this lovely place on several occasions over the years and have stayed in Lavandes & Tour previously. Laurier has a particularly nice high ceilinged and airy sitting/dining room that hangs out over the valley with lovely views back towards the pool - really great when its very hot and you want to catch a bit of cooling breeze. I stayed here in a mixed group of adults and kids and it worked brilliantly as everyone can retreat to their own cottage for post lunch snoozing without being disturbed. The cottages are well equipped, everything that I needed to cook with was there plus good sized fridges & dishwashers, the bathrooms were nice and equipped with washing machines.
The pool was a good size and in fantastic position in the centre of the property with a fig tree beside the outdoor shower! We really appreciated the very natural and relaxed private setting with (very) old olive trees on the terraces and useful bushes of thyme and rosemary near the kitchen door. Lots of wildlife to enjoy - we saw green frogs, lots of butterflies and lizards.
Shopping in Le Beausset was easy, 10 mins away by car - 2 excellent supermarkets with lots of parking & open late plus a weekly market & more specialist boulangerie/butcher/pizzeria elsewhere in the village. There's a very good farm shop with vegetables & fruit just beside the road between the motorway & the village. We bought wine from Domaine Ray which uses only natural processes, there were many other vineyards nearby.
It was quite hard to peel ourselves away from lying down by the pool all day but we drove to the coast and found a variety of different beaches from shallow, sandy, and toddler friendly, though these tended to be more crowded and touristy, my favourite was the adventurous and shingly Port d'Alon which was about 15 mins by car.
The houses feel quite French but the owners are English and were helpful.
Travel from Marseille airport was straightforward by car and only took about hour door to door.
