“Great for a quiet getaway”
Reviewed 12 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

After getting a bit lost, Eileen was there to great us with a cup of tea and the fire in the kitchen already lit. She showed us around and gave us a great idea of what kind of things we could do in the area. The cottage itself is absolutely lovely, big enough with everything you need including a kitchen stocked with the basics so we were well able to cook dinner. Plenty of firewood was left, and during a powercut on one of the nights, Eileen and Robert were over with candles and torches for us til it came back on. The surrounding area is beautiful and well worth getting up early to see the sunrise over the mountains. The Ring of Beara is definitely worth a visit.
We had no reception or mobile internet at the cottage, which was perfect for us as we wanted to disconnect for the 3 nights, but may be an issue for others.
Everything was clean and well kept, and the warm welcome and helpfulness of the owners was a great way to start a relaxing break. We'll definitely be back soon!

We had lovely time on the baera peninsula. The welcome of eileen was great and she attended us on the various things we could do while staying there, The cottage is very nice, especially to sit next to the log fire at night.

“Feels like home from home”

Just after we drew up to the cottage, Eileen drove up in the community bus, stopped - leaving her passengers - and came to give us a hug. This is typical of the reception at this beautiful cottage in this lovely area. We keep coming back for more. Wood burner in the lounge lovely for the cool autumn evenings - and a fire in the kitchen/diner if you need it. For cookery buffs the large double oven gas cooker is a real joy, as well as the comprehensive kitchen equipment. A marvellous base for meeting the local community or exploring the beautiful Beara peninsula. And have a biscuit ready for Coco's visit in the morning.
