The property looks like it has not been updated since 1989.

Although clean, there are signs of aging everywhere from the faded lounge chairs with missing slats to the beat up old ping pong tables and cracked pavement on the tennis courts that doubles as a basketball court.

The activities provide very little in the way of entertainment for kids and the sailboat rides that are included last all of 5 minutes.

The food in the main dining hall is college cafeteria quality. The restaurants that require reservations seem to serve the same food as the dining hall buffet, only they bring it to you on nicer plates and with your own server.

The one saving grace is the staff. Very friendly and accommodating. However, overall, this place was a huge disappointment.

Staff were very friendly and accomodating; location was excellent; food was very good; beach was outstanding; I do not feel any negative comments are warranted in this review. Life guards were very friendly and knowledgeable. I would have no reservations recommending this resort.

I stayed at this hotel with my partner . I found the workers to be very helpful and polite . The room very clean and cleaned daily . The food omg was amazing . Every night something different . Great activities for everyone . Amazing decor toon of drinks . There is a tour desk to book tours . Furthermore the hotel offers water based motorised sport at an affordable rate . For both of us to do tubing $40. I would advice only take American dollars because everything is in American dollars

This was our 5th visit to this resort and as usual, we had an amazing time! We keep coming back because our 9 yo daughter and 11 yo son love it here, the wonderful staff, great food options, fun activities, unlimited beverages, clean and comfortable rooms, and beautiful beaches, waterpark, grounds, and ocean views!

PROS:
Perfect for young families and families with children.
Feels very safe and secure and didn’t feel pressured by local sellers to buy their goods.
Friendly and hardworking Hilton staff (special mention to Ingrid (Manager), Djanelle (Check-In), Herman (Cabana staff), and Baldwin (Water Sports staff), but overall was impressed by ALL the staff we encountered throughout our stay from the time we checked in to the time we left.
Very clean and comfortable accommodations and resort - the housekeeping, cleaning, and grounds staff were always seen cleaning up and working tirelessly throughout the day.
Unlimited beverages and lots of great food options between daily buffets and 5 restaurants, and special theme nights (International and Jamaican) - our kids loved Fiwi Jerk Hut, Three Palms, Moonstone (pizzas) and Seaside Bar & Grill!
Unlimited non-motorized water activities (catamaran, wind surfer and kayaks) - we paid extra for the snorkeling and also waterskiing and tube rides which were totally worth it!
Numerous family friendly daily resort activities - our kids loved pool volleyball and Jamaican baseball, shuffleboard and beanbag toss games, as well as the Teen Zone and Cricket Club areas for video games, movies, foosball, basketball and pool tables.
Free wifi and great little coffee shop - kids loved ordering Frappuccinos and the different selections at the daily dessert bar.
Bar King Frog - great place to hang out with friends or the family and enjoy a drink before or after dinner, lounge or take an afternoon siesta in a comfortable chaise, or catch a televised game.
Well maintained beaches (2) - staff worked hard to remove the seaweed daily during our stay and the kids saw lots of sea life right off the beach including a crab, white sea urchin, fish and a starfish!
Sugar Mills Waterpark and Lazy River - included 2 watersides and swim up bar! Kids loved swimming and tubing throughout the day and many guests brought their own. Never felt overcrowded and staff worked hard to pick up garbage and cups left behind daily by hotel guests in and out of the pool.
Hotel is in proximity to the airport (10-15 min drive) and easy taxi ride to Hip Strip and Margaritaville (free access to water trampoline and other large water toys) in Montego Bay.
Access to numerous golf courses and other onsite activities (e.g., tennis, beach and pool volleyball, dance, power walks, fitness area/gym).
Lots of available tour options for an additional price (eg, Dunn’s River Falls, Blue Hole, Catamaran tour, ATV and horseback tours, coffee plantation and rum factory tours, Negril Beach tour, Dolphin Cove, Mystic Mountain).

CONS:
Daily additional charge of $75 US/child ages 6-14 (would have preferred it to be included in the quoted rate at time of booking vs. being told to pay it as an “add on” upon check in so there’s no room for miscommunication).
Lack of good evening entertainment - our kids thought last year’s lineup was much better!
Rooms - will need to be updated soon as they are starting to show their age and wear.

We had two oceanfront rooms. They were small but a great view.
The bathroom was so small the door nearly touches the toilet. Cleaning was good and the frig is stocked with beer, pop and water. We gave a tip the first day and requested lots of water and beer and it worked. Loved the lazy river and swim up bar. There is not enough tubes for the lazy river which I did read prior so I brought our own which made it nice. The beach was fine, not large with some seaweed and not as clear as we hoped for. We rented a beach cabana a couple days, which we loved it. You get a cooler with a few beers, water and stuff for mimosas. Having someone wait on you is nice as well. We got a pool cabana one day, it was okay. The beach is better.

The food is good for an all inclusive. We liked having dinner at the 3 restaurants that require reservations. All were good and nice change from the buffet. I emailed two weeks prior for dinner reservations and to book the cabanas. There is a pizza place, a jerk hut, juice bar all by the far beach side. Don't miss them. Drinks were really good. I always asked for a rum or vodka float on top to make sure they were strong. The bartenders were always very accommodating.

We used Best Jamaica for private transport to and from the airport. $35 each way for 5 adults. I recommend them.

Room tip: Beachfront at least 3rd floor or higher
