We shop at the local Asian grocer and decided to give it a go. Food wasn’t great but as it serves a local community, I reckon they can get away with it. The salmon in the maki was in tiny pieces and it all fell apart as I bit into it. The tempura don my wife ordered came with so much rice it could have fed both of us. However, the most disappointing was the dipping sauce which came in a tiny bowl (a real Japanese restaurant gives you a big bowl!) and when my wife used it up, she asked for another and was also given another small bowl. When we paid, I noticed a $1 charge for sauce and we queried the owner/manager who proudly said we charge for sauce. Firstly, this is dipping sauce for tempura and don’t rort your customers by charging. Secondly, we were not told that it cost extra when we asked for more sauce. It’s the principle so beware of this greedy restaurant.
