This was our second trip to malapascua to dive with evolution. We always knew we'd come back here, and we can't wait to go back again. The staff are professional, organised, passionate about what they do, and know their stuff. We completed our advanced certification, and I also decided to do my EFR, and rescue diver courses.

Seb our instructor was thorough and did a great job of teaching us new skills as well as keeping us on our toes. Our fun dives were also excellent; small groups (usually just my husband and I plus instructor), informative briefings, and well cared for kit.

Diving in Malapascua is incredible. The threshers are fascinating, we've been lucky enough to see them three times and loved every minute. The reefs on the island, as well as at gato, are a treat and it's worth mentioning how much evolution do to involve the local and dive community in protecting the marine reserve, employing and training local people, working with the local authorities, and regular beach cleanups.

Evolution is also great for a post dive beer and feed, what better than a beachfront bar with hammocks and incredible sunsets?!

Fair play those boys and girls, they're doing a great thing fantastically well and you'd be silly not to join them!

Our second, but by no means our last experience with Evolution Diving. All travel arrangements went without a hitch, from pick up at airport, transfer by van and boat to arrive early evening.
Good clean rooms, basically equipped but more than sufficient. The restaurant is pretty good, nice friendly and attentive staff (and Bruce the island hound), food is tasty and filling.
Diving was very good, managed to see the Threasher sharks on every one of the dawn dives, trips to Gato and Kalanggaman Island showed off the range of marine life and topography of this location.
The dive team are excellent, friendly and knowledgeable and helpful in all aspects
We will most definitely be back in 2018

Despite my 5 star review I do have a few reservations about Evolution (not least the name which is offensive to creationists such as Gary Busey, Mr T and the Pope) but let's start with the good:

1. The sea around the island is the perfect balance of wetness, saltiness and fishiness. And it goes ALL AROUND the island which means that wherever you leave, the sea is right there. One of the unique perks of this magical place.
2. The Craic House - Top notch scran and superb use of the pun. The staff wearing 'Craic Dealer' outfits had me chuckling to myself on the daily. Brilliant.
3. The constant crowing of cockerels is a sound both soothing and uplifting at any time of the day. I will never tire of it.

However, despite excelling in certain areas, the staff were a profoundly odd bunch with the collective personality of a ham sandwich. GM Nick does little more than look at memes (pronounced meeeeeeeems) and play godawful music that only be described as 'bang bang horrible music bang'. I think some of it was psytrance which is just terrible. And he smelt faintly of chips and gravy. In addition our instructor Sebastian wasn't the same Sebastian the crab from the Little Mermaid which was distressing to say the least. In fact he was a boy of no more than 8 with a hairstyle reminiscent of a bathroom mop imitating Eminem. I have to admit, he knew his onions which was effectively useless as we were learning diving rather than cooking but we muddled through and are now proud owners of certificates for the 50 metres breaststroke and picking up a brick in our pyjamas. As for Mette and Freddie I have no idea what they actually do. Mette attempts breakdance moves in the sand (badly) and Freddie is about 8ft tall and shaves her head with a blunt machete.

I understand that this review is perhaps nonsense but if you'll allow me to be serious for half a second this place is ace, the diving is the tits and the overall vibe is bless. And the staff are beautiful people that know a lot of stuff about diving. Much love from the best ever, Nick and Nicki xxxxxxxx

Completed my advanced certification, and my rescue diver course during our second stay on Malapascua. We love this beautiful, faraway little island, and our friends at Evolution! We're not super experienced divers but they always make us feel comfortable, safe, and at ease. They have well looked after gear, plenty of people on hand to help, and lots of beautiful sites to choose from. We love diving on the Monad shoal, seeing the threshers is an awesome experience to remember. Rescue diver was hard work - be prepared for some on the spot moments and lots of physically demanding tasks - but I'm so glad I did it with these guys. There is a great bar with delicious fresh food and tasty cocktails after a hard day's diving. We've had a great time and will definitely be back again, and would definitely recommend diving with Evolution.
