“A delightful home from home”
Reviewed 9 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Hughie's cottage is a wonderful example of how to restore a traditional Irish cotttage, retaining all of the original character while adding home comforts & plenty of style. The booking process was straightforward and it was a pleasure to arrive to find a fire burning in the stove & Marion on hand to show us around.
Inishowen is a beautiful part of Ireland & the cottage is a great base for exploration.
Top tip - it's worth making the drive to Bridgend for dinner at Harry's Bar & Restaurant.

“Superb!!!”
Reviewed 20 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We had an amazing time at Cavanagh's Cottage & really didn't want to leave! We found it very easy to book & Hughie was so friendly & helpful; As was Marion, who met us on our arrival & had a lovely turf fire burning in the living room to warm us up and make us feel very welcome! Cavanagh's is a traditional Irish cottage with a modern twist. It is so filled with character & we just loved all the quirky bits and pieces (including the cheese grater lights in the kitchen!). The weather wasn't so good during our stay, but it didn't matter...the scenery in the surrounding area of the Inishowen Peninsula was spectacular and we especially enjoyed our visit to Malin Head. It was just lovely to know that we would be returning to the homeliness of the Cottage, after a day's sight seeing, where we could put our feet up & enjoy the warmth from the turf fire! We will definitely return to Cavanagh's Cottage on our next trip to Donegal :)

“What a fabulous place, a real getaway in the heart of Inishowen !!!!”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Cavanagh's cottage has been beautifully restored. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay. All the mod cons but still with a feeling of being in a true traditional Donegal cottage. Great for kids and adults. We had an endless supply of turf left by the owner for our use....a real treat and added to the experience! The beautiful Culdaff beach is not far away.
I will definately be back: an ideal place to visit in all seasons!

“Great location”
Reviewed 9 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Great location and fabulous setting. Comfortable and well presented. Kitchen could be better equipped with bread board and large knife missing essentials and only 6 mugs. Some hooks would be handy on the back of bedroom doors and bathroom to hang clothes/ towels.a coffee table in the lounge.Bedroom Doors have missing closing latches. Aside from these great times and great venue. Marion was very welcoming and happy to help!

“Brilliant”
Reviewed 21 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

I stayed here with my girlfriend and two other couples and it really was fantastic. An old style Donegal cottage with a modern twist. Everything we needed for our weekend stay was here, and one of our favorite bits was the view from the decked area - unreal. Owner Hughie was very easy to deal with when booking the cottage as well as being flexible to our parties needs. Also handy to carndonagh, culdaff, and moville.

5 stars - highly recommended!
