“A Perfect Getaway”
Reviewed 16 July 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We stayed in the cottage for 6 weeks fleeing building work in our own home in nearby Stamford. The property was a perfect getaway for us - ideally located in the pretty village of Ketton which is no more than a 10 minute drive into Stamford and providing all home comforts.
The cosy sitting room with woodburning stove is ideal for relaxing in the evening and there is an abundance of books, games and DVDs provided for entertainment. The cottage style kitchen is well equipped and on warm evenings we sat in the garden. As the World Cup was on during our stay and the local pub at the end of the lane was broadcasting the matches we sometimes had some noise but never late at night so it wasn't a problem.
We met some of the neighbours who were very friendly and there was never an issue with the parking for the cottage which is very convenient either at the end of the little lane or on Church Street although we rarely needed to do this.
As our stay coincided with the very light evenings and early morning sunrises we would have liked heavier blinds in the bedroom as we were woken very early every morning by the bright sunshine illuminating the room from the double aspect windows. In the sitting room there are shutters but not in the bedrooms so perhaps some blackout blinds would be a good solution.
Apart from this we had an extremely comfortable stay and would definitely recommend the cottage.

thank-you very much for taking the time to review two chapel lane and apologies for taking so long to respond back to you. We're really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. As a result of your feedback, we now have mobile black-out blinds for guests to use if they so choose. Kind regards, Gillian

“Great stay with 2 small children”

Great cottage, beautifully furnished and well equipped for young children with blackout blinds, cots etc.
we stayed with our 2 year old and 4 month old baby over a lovely sunny weekend. Burlurgh house was fantastic - take a swimming costume for your little one so they can splash about in the garden of surprises, and have a picnic in the sculpture garden. A visit to the local farm, and a picnic at Rutland water was also a hit.
It was a shame the local pub had shut down for food, so we stocked up with some meals from the Cook Shop.
Would definitely love to return.

Thank-you very much for you lovely review - I'm really pleased that you liked both the cottage and the area. It's a shame that the Northwick Arms was closed during your visit. I understand it's just been sold and is opening under new ownership - so hopefully it will be up and running again if you do make a return visit. Kind regards, Gillian

“Quintessential country cottage in lovely village location”
Reviewed 23 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We had a lovely weekend at 2 Chapel Lane with our toddler and parents/in-laws. The cottage is extremely well equipped for children, which means you really can pack light. The decor is lovely, and although small, the cottage has everything one could think of to make a comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend!
