Gill the owner was helpful right from the beginning, answering any questions we had before our visit, meet us on arrival (after she kindly organised a local taxi from the airport to pick us up). She also kindly left a welcome pack for us with milk, bread, butter jam etc which was much appreciated.
We loved staying in Torrox Pueblo, a lovely Spanish village with little quaint streets and lovely friendly people. The house was only 5min from the square where bars and restaurants were but loved the little streets and stumbling upon little Spanish bars and enjoying the tapas. Our favourite tapas bar was La Parada just before the square, the food was excellent, well presented, and the menu changes most days. Muriel and Anna who owned the bar were so friendly and the service was super.
The actual house was a typical Spanish town house, so cool in the day, loved the roof terrace which was perfect for a chilled relaxing time. It was well stocked with pots and pans etc and even cleaning and washing products provided which made it home from home.
Would certainly stay again and would highly recommend for a traditional holiday stay. Maybe shouldn't praise it too highly or we might find no availability next time we want to go!!!
We stayed here with a friend for 14 days and this is an ideal bolthole and the pictures do not do this place justice. It is ideally located about 3 minutes walk from the plaza in one direction of about 3 mins walk to the bus heading down to the coast. This felt like home from when we arrived and Gil was very accomodating even though our flights were delayed which then delayed us in getting to to torrox pueblo. The house has two very decent sized bedrooms, a full kitchen with a beautiful little terrace outside the kitchen that you could sit with a meal (perfectly sized for the 3 of us) or a coffee to watch the world go by. There are 2 bathrooms and a decet sized sitting room again easily comfortable for the 3 of us. We practically lived on the roof terrace as ideal for relaxing and reading, sunbathing or just sitting with a glass of wine or beer in the evening and watching the sea or the locals going about their business. Yes it is beside a church and the bells toll every 15 minutes but after day 2 you know longer hear them but it is a good reminder to get ready for your evening out lol. Places to try would be Le Figon (reserve to avoid disappointment) La Casa on the plaza or Meson La Terraza for good traditional food. This is perfectly placed for the bus route to the coast and the buses are quiet frequent daily slightly less so on a Sunday. Ideal place if you are looking for a base to tour the area. Thank you Gill for letting us stay in your place and we hope to visit again soos

Our stay was all too short but while we were here it really felt like home. Gill had left a welcome pack for breakfast our first day and we shopped in the local market and shops so we could have some home-cooked meals (we had been driving through France and Spain for 5 days) and also ate in some of the nearby restaurants. We had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. There was only the two of us so we had plenty of room but there was enough room for four. Both bedrooms are a good size and having 2 bathrooms, one downstairs and the other upstairs with the bedrooms, was really useful. The roof terrace was a bonus and we made good use of it at lunch times and later watching the sun go down. We needed wifi to book the rest of our road trip in Spain and the connection speed was good.
We had our car and 2 bikes with us. Gill let us store the bikes in the cellar below the house. Would recommend to anyone wanting to experience life in an authentic spanish village.
We've just got back having rented Calle Paz for 4 weeks. The house had everything we needed to make our stay not just a holiday rental but a home. It has the benefit of 2 terraces, the roof terrace with sunbeds and views of both the sea and mountains and the other terrace is located off the kitchen at ground floor level. Both bedrooms have Juliet balconies and were well equipped.
Torrox Pueblo is a real Spanish village with white washed houses, red slate roofs and narrow streets. The Plaza which is a 2 minute walk from the house has 6 restaurants to choose from, all with al fresco dining.
Torrox Costa is a 50 minute downhill walk although there is a regular bus service for those less energetic.
The owner Gill was efficient, responded promptly on all correspondence and was a pleasure to deal with. Gill also met us on arrival to give us the guided tour of the house.
From the word 'go' Gill was the perfect host. She even cancelled my payment and sent a new qoute at a reduced rate because I was travelling alone even though I had the whole house. Knowing i was arriving late she surprised me by stocking up the fridge, free of charge, with wine, orange juice, water, milk, fruit, delicious seeded bread, jam, muesli, etc. There's even sun lotion in the bathroom! How kind and thoughtful. After Gary had given up his evening to see me into the property, I stood on the terrace and cried. I want to keep this perfect place secret but that would be selfish. If you want to be a tourist go to a hotel. If you want a real experience stay at Calle Paz (Peace Street . . . it lives up to it's name except for the delightful music of the local women's chatter beneath the Juliet balcony and the church clock, without which you would lose all sense of time). This place is peace on earth!
