Description: The restaurant is noted for its excellent wine list and wonderful local and Tuscan dishes. Wine is a passion here - the cantina holds delights from both Tuscany (including a good selection of the so-called 'Super-Tuscans'). Great care has been taken in adapting the wine list to match whatever dishes happen to be in season, and you will find recommendations to match each course of your meal.Local funghi (mushrooms) in season, crostini Toscani after an old family recipe and good salami, home-made pasta (tortelli, ravioli, fettucine), gnocchi, zuppa Toscana and a good choice of main dishes. All dishes can be paired with a recommendation from the excellent wine cellar - one that has been growing for over forty years and is constantly changing and being added to. The Restaurant joins the program and events of "Vetrina Toscana a tavola"

While in Barga we ate at Alpino several times and each was a delight. The owners were attentive and charming and the food was all-local and authentic.

Old style Italian restaurant with a quaint, old-fashioned feeling. No rush at all. Beautiful carpaccio of tuna - thinly sliced tuna which tastes like quality meat! Main courses were duck breast with balsamic vinegar and chicken breast with a wine sauce (vinsanto) and pine kernels and raisins.

Beautifully prepared and presented. Delish. Lovely, complimentary house red. The owner also waited table - he's a perfectionist apparently. Also does cooking too, with another chef.

A little more expensive than others in Barga but worth it. Just a very nice overall experience.

We stayed in Barga for 4 nights during our honeymoon. Two out ou of 4 we went to Alpino's restaurant. We found exactly the authenticity of flavours we were looking for. Simple but generous dishes, the whole Tuscany in your plate. Don't hesitate to ask some advice to the owner for the wine. This is a quite (good jazzy music) and warm place. Prices are reasonnable.
