A great family park, right on the beach front, it is all set up for fishing. The beach is pebbly, however once you get a few meters out into the water it is lovely sand. I would recommend some beach shoes to make it more comfortable. We camped over the Easter break, the pitches are a generous size and the facilities are good and very clean. There are cabins to rent as well as camping pitches. There is also a little shop where you can get essentials and many other items. The staff are friendly and helpful too. The drive along the coast is very bendy and the views are amazing and it is not too far from Coromandel Town, We will defiantly be back.

First time we have ventured north of Coromandel town. The road is windy but worth it. We are on a caravan site overlooking the beach, great view and good fishing, a shop and fuel on site. Worth spending a few days or weeks. We will be back.

This was our 2nd time staying here and they just make you feel at home.
Tucked in over the hill from Coromandel Town is this hidden gem!
Powered camp sites, coin operated showers, kitchen facilities, camp shop, water front camping, fishing and swimming - the perfect holiday destination for a kiwi holiday!

Papa Aroha: "the benevolent grandfather". And the friendly owners! I was looking for a "base camp" on the Coromandel to leave my tent and luggage and discover the peninsula on my old Suzy, a 200 cc Enduro. It was perfect. I got a spot right on the beach, the view was grand, all the amenities were tiptop, there was a little store to buy food and stuff, and you could even buy gasoline! After a long hot day riding around on unsealed roads to secluded beaches at the very north of the Peninsula, it was a treat to come back to this friendly place every evening and chill. People in a camper next to me invited me to go fishing and that was great, we saw Penguins and Gannets and roamed around the little islands off the coast. Five stars for the Papa Aroha Holiday Park!!!!! Eric Delanouë Pedersen

We have stayed at this campsite a few times now and have loved every stay. The owners are really friendly and it is great value and has a lovely family atmosphere on site. The shower pressure is not great but can't expect too much for being out in the countryside. Directly on the beach so a great place to launch the kayak and have a fish.
