We were very impressed with the very unique design of the modern part of the castle and how clever it is worked into the old ruin of the castle. There was a very heart warming exposition dedicated to the local residents of the place. I wish we in England cared that much about local history and I could not help thinking about lots of half-abandoned ruins which could benefit from a similar approach!
The village itself is very picturesque and you can take a stroll along the river and admire a lovely vista.

We recently had a Company event at the Kasteel De Keverberg. The restoring intervention to the Castle produced a perfect mix of history and present, by following the ancient architecture with modern materials and colors. This castle was in the past a toll check point for ships sailing the Maas; at the end of the WW II it was destroyed by the Germans occupants not to have it falling in Allied's hands. It remained a ruin until our days.
At the top of the roof there's a meeting room were you can have events an presentations, enjoying a breathtaking view on the Maas. Reception from personnel was very kind and catering quality more than satisfactory. A visit if you are in the neighbor as well the choice of this location for an event are strongly suggested .

Due to a lack of time we could only see part of the castle but I do recommend to visit because it looks great: medieval on the outside, a mixte of ancient and modern elements on the inside.

The setting on the River Maas/River Meuse is spectacular and the restoration has meant that on the upper floors you get great views on the River and Town/Village side. The modern wings and renovations do not detract from the original. When we were there there was an Art and Craft fair in the grounds. The Great Hall has a wonderful seating area and the castle is well worth a visit. It is sad that it was burned at the end of the second world war but they have done a great job of restoring it.There is a good lift which makes it very accessible for the disabled and for wheelchairs.

An excellent Kasteel to visit. The architect did a good job with the combination of history and modern times. Very unique.
