“Lovely villa!”
Reviewed 14 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Booked this villa for a week in early August 2017 for the five of us - which included 3 teenagers. The villa is as it appears on the website, kitchen is well stocked with essential items . It is about a 40 minute stroll into the other end of Playa Blanca and a 20 minute stroll to the marina all off road along a promenade. The beach is a 2 minute walk but the nicest beach, Papgayo, was about a 15 minute walk. There is plenty to do in the area with restaurants, beaches and pool and day trips. The local supermarket is well stocked and priced. Pool was well used in the very hot weather!

“Nice villa close to the sea”
Reviewed 12 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

This is a nice villa on the outskirts on Playa Blanca: it is about 2 Km stroll along sea-front promenade to Marina Rubicon, where there are several good restaurants. There is avery convenient supermarket about 300-400 yards away. The pool is small, and we didn't really use it. But the adjacent patio area is sunny for most of the day, and therein a lovely view of the sea and coastline from the first floor balcony off the main bedroom. Thee are ample cooking, eating and toilet / bathing facilities. I suspect you would be better off (as we were) with a hire car - it is a bit off the beaten track if relying on walking and buses. Having said that, there is a regular bus service, every 30 mins I think, which stops nearby and goes to centre of Playa Blanca. The contact numbers given worked for advice and assistance and answers were always prompt and accurate. The sound of the waves lull you to sleep at night, and while there are a couple of local hotels, their noise appears to be only occasional nights and never went past 10.30 while we were there. Reliable 1 Mbps download speed wifi throughout property and DVD player works.

“Lovely villa, great location”

This was our first trip to Lanzarote and we enjoyed every minute. The villa is exactly how it appears on the photos, the beach literally a very short walk. The view from the balcony was great, watching the sun come up in the morning with a cup of coffee and relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening, perfect.

“Perfect setting - peaceful house”
Reviewed 23 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

The sun comes in the master bedroom window as it rises in February... the perfect start to the day. Villa Carioka is a lovely solid house nestled into a complex which shelters its back. There are no houses between the house and the sea view. You look across to the Papagayo headland and some ritzy hotels. It's an invigorating walk along the sea-front to the marina - maybe 15 minutes, but there are two good supermarkets nearby as well as Casa Carlos restaurant and a shopping centre bar and cafe. The house is comfortable and quiet. The heated pool is a boon on a chilly day. The kitchen is well-appointed - basic but well thought-out. Would definitely go back again.
