Our second stay at Casa Bella. This time for three weeks. Villa was as good as we remembered it - actually it was even nicer as there is new very comfy patio furniture!
This is an easy review to write as from the minute I made contact with the owner Shin to the minute we left Casa Bella was absolutely flawless.
From the minute you walk through the door of the villa we were impressed. The first thing that we noticed was how clean the villa was. This was apparent right throughout the whole villa. The second thing was the welcome pack, that really impressed me :-) never had that before. The Villa itself is very spacious.
The villa has absolutely everything you need to make your stay a comfortable one and a memorable one.
Fridge, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, cooker TV, WIFI (a must for our teenage kids) air con in every bedroom, 3 toilets, one being en suite in the master bedroom, Swimming pool (16 feet by 10 feet cleaned twice a week) with 6 loungers that you don't need to get up at 03.00 to put your towel on. The villa has absolutely everything and I mean everything. We would definitely recommend Casa Bella and at some point we will be back.
Now for some pointers to help your stay easier until you find your feet. We use Hoppa to get from the airport to Casa Bella. The cost for this was £56.21 for a private taxi which actually turn out to be a bus just for us. Search Hoppa discount code as I found one for 20% off. You may find that communication with the driver is a tad trying. Shin (the owner) supplies full detailed instruction on how to get to the Villa. One copy in English and one in Spanish. I found my Google map pretty good and it also gives you a sense of where you are going, I'll attach it in Pics.
When you arrive at the villa you will notice a spiral staircase taking you to the bedrooms. Don't do what we did and negotiate 4 heavy suitcases up the stairs. Go upstairs, open the door that takes you out to the top balcony which also leads you to a set of stairs to the pool area. Use these for carrying yours cases up through one of 3 patio doors in the living area.
There are 2 Supermarket within a short distance (Hyper Dino) from the Villa. Come out the Villa, turn left and you can see it in front of you, takes less than 5 minutes to walk. It has everything you will need in here. This one is the cheaper of the 2 as you will find big differences in prices. The other one is located to the right of the Villa. A bit longer walk so don't go here with the intention of buying your water for the whole of your stay in one go as it is a bit further. If you go up to the balcony of the Villa look out straight ahead of you and turn your head slightly to the left you will see a Shopping Center, this is where you will be walking to. This supermarket had more British things like Cathedral Cheese but you will pay close on 5 Euro's for a small block. it's a must for my fussy kids.
Walking to the Marina......out the Villa, turn left and immediately left again. Follow this right down to the see front where you will pick up the promenade that takes you right to the Marina then right into town. The walk will take you 20 ish minutes to the Marina and my guess is another 20 minutes into the centre of Playa Blancs. Lovely stroll along the promenade. There is a market at the Marina every Wednesday and Saturday, worth a visit.
Getting into Playa Blanca if you haven't hired a car which we didn't. Out the Villa and turn left. There is a roundabout about 20 steps away. Straight through this as if your walking to the Supermarket. There is a crossing a few yards up where the bus stop is located. you will need to cross the road for the bus into town. I'm not sure but I believe the journey is 1.20 euro's per person. as there were 4 of us so we used taxis all the time. What we did was walk up to the roundabout just past the bus stop and hail taxis. we never waited any more that 5 minutes. The Journey into main Playa Blanca never cost anymore that 5 Euro's. Having said that the day we left the taxi's had a price increase due to the start of there holiday season. So to sit your bum on the seat went from 2.40 to 3.05. Getting back to the Villa using taxi's 98% of the time wasn't a problem but the odd driver took you on a magical mystery tour. Tell the driver Papagayo Rubicon Playa or Playa de Afre. once you get close you can direct the driver to stop.
Hope this all helps you find your feet in your first day or so
Well what a fabulous relaxing and very spacious villa... Absolutely loved our morning coffee out on the balcony outside our bedroom, watching boats sail by. The owner Shin was absolutely brilliant from the checking of availability to even welcoming us back to the UK nothing was to much trouble..... 10 minute walk to the New marina along a promenade was delightful, Bus stop just across the road to take you into central Playa Blanca for 1 Euro 40 cents.... bargain. The supermarket very near that supplies everything you could ever need. We found a lovely restaurant called Casa Carlos nearby, very good food and service. Can't wait to be able to visit again. Thanks a million Shin......
