Stayed here 19 to 29 June 2018. This is NOT in Praia do Rocha which Jet2 might like you to think; it's in Praia do Vau which is a half mile away. Told reps this- address has since been corrected. We think this hotel was originally a self-catering eight storey building like the one next door. Here, they have bolted on a dining room and indoor pool underneath to make it a hotel. Problem is, everything is too small. The dining room is cramped. The bar area is small and struggles to accommodate the guests especially when entertainment is held here, and that's for the mainly French people who come here. The entertainment staff are late teens/early twenties who speak French and little English. As the World Cup was on TV, these folk planted themselves in front of the set. Shouldn't guests come first? Rarely saw the Manager.
Despite having facilities that suggests it is 4 star, the small size of it means this cannot be correct, this is 3 star. And the food ain't that great. Having been with Jet2 to a 4 star in Cyprus, that was a proper 4 star. Based on the number of Brits who were very disappointed with this place, we think that Jet2 should consider withdrawing their connection with this hotel as it is clearly harming their reputation.

Room Tip: Choose a suite even if you don't use the kitchen

DON'T DON'T Visit this hotel if you are British the rooms were nice and the hotel is very clean but that is where the good points stop the hotel is set up for French tourism only there is entertainment but only for the French guest's which isn't occasionally as Jet2 say its most days from music to loud and being the same cd every day to every night and you are literly push out to make way for the French entertainment team and French guest's so you either put up with it or go out and after you have paid £2000 for your holiday then forked out nearly another £1000 on eating out and drinks its a bit hard to swallow they say its a 4 star hotel but more like a 3 and the food at best is 2 star its poor quality and the choice was terrible and again aimed more for the French even the staff are only comfortable speaking French and just to top it off you have apartments being done up across the road which is covered in rubbish all in all what should have been a great holiday spoiled by Jet2 putting British tourists into a hotel who only want to attract the French and its funny after i pointed out it was only the French flag that was on display along with the Portuguese has now had a British flag put up since we came home it will take more than a flag to change what can be a nice hotel i certainly won't go back or advice anyone who either unless they like to speak in French or be entertained in French by French

So I decided to write this review on day 1 of 5.

The hotel in my opinion is NOT 4 star, it’s 3 at best and here’s why:

1. Some of the buffet food was cold, however, the quality is pretty good
2. The range of choice is dire and I mean very very limited
3. Yes there are lots of French guests but personally that doesn’t bother me. If you expect to be entertained and you don’t speak French then you’ll probably be disappointed
4. The all inclusive drinks range is very limited

But the worst bit for me was the attitude of the Jet2 reps when we tried to outline our concerns

Their primary focus was to defend the hotel, not listen to some unemotional feedback

So we have complained to Jet2 directly and let’s see if they actually take honest feedback on board

Stayed here the end of may with my partner, room was lovely and clean our towels were replaced every day, they also gave us beach towels, the bar staff are very friendly. We went with all inclusive the food was nice the only thing was not much of a selection. Breakfast was alright only bacon one morning. Coffee was good! The location was great only 10-15 minute walk to Praia da Rocha. Honestly wouldn’t stay again only because the hotel was catered more for French.

The hotel itself is somewhat dated, and, I would suggest too small for purpose. The bar, dining room, and reception area are all very tight and small.
To the holiday itself. Prepare to be actively excluded if you are not French. The entertainment team are primed to take care of the French residents and will ignore you if you are not. I was there with 3 friends to celebrate our milestone birthday's, and we stayed under an all inclusive package.
We had few complaints about the food, perhaps some of the dishes could have been warmer at times though.
However the choice of drinks was incredibly poor. As a diabetic, there was no diet soda option, which is simply unacceptable. The cocktail choice was also very poor, with 7 VERY basic choices available. The local choices for Gin, White rum, Whiskey, and Vodka were the poorest standard I have encountered on holiday.
Personally, my choice of alcoholic beverage (cider, or dark rum), was not catered for, though dark rum was available at €4.50 charge per drink. Ciders were freely available in other bars, hotels, supermarkets, so I found it frustrating that they couldn't be included within my all inclusive package. Then again, these drinks were clearly not popular among the French, otherwise I'm certain that accommodation's would have been made.
Entertainment, every day/night was in French, and when we asked for our language to be included, we were shrugged aside with complete disregard, being told, "this is not for you". Well pardon moi, but were was the entertainment that we had paid for in our package I wondered.
If my review is somewhat scathing, then so be it. This is the reality of our experience, and at the end of our week long stay, we couldn't wait to leave.
Such a shame as there were some standout staff members employed by the hotel, namely, Bruno & Vitor in the bar. As well as among the restaurant staff.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere.
