“" Perfect Italian Family Vactaion "”
Reviewed 26 May 2020 for a stay in October 2019

Review:
Last fall our family (Seventeen in all) enjoyed eleven unforgettable days at Castello di Pergolato. Upon our arrival we were greeted with friendly and professional staff. The property more than met our expectations, finding it well maintained, with museum quality furnishings yet comfortable and inviting. The delicious and extensive breakfast buffet every morning provided a wonderful start to the day, well worth the additional cost. Also, the beautiful dining room and lovely table setting, with a fire burning in the huge fireplace added to the ambiance.

The property manager was on site each morning to oversee the daily operations of the castle, always available to answer questions, helpful in making restaurant reservations, and even called a doctor for a house visit... much appreciated, especially when not speaking the language. The high light was the prearranged, four course, candlelight dinner for our family. It was an amazing meal and beautifully executed... again, “kudos “to the entire staff... truly, a magical night!

The only negative was that the castle, although somewhat handicap accessible, was not suited for someone in a wheelchair, such as my husband. Portable ramps were provided for entering or exiting, but the castle’s interior had many challenges. In addition, there were a few “issues ‘the first night concerning the water temperature and the heart, but those problems were quickly resolved the following morning.

In conclusion, Castello di Pergolato is a gem, with good location to Florence, defiantly a property we would highly recommend. A note of gratitude also goes to Susan Doull of Commendable Rentals LLC, who did an extraordinary job helping us in the selection of this unique Castle, as well as securing medical Equpment, obtaining a car van and driver (Ellie ) who became like family, and always promptly returned any calls.

With much appreciation,

How lovely to read your review, and confirmation that your long planned trip was all that you had hoped. We know that it was an important milestone for you all, and in retrospect, the perfect time. We are so glad that you could experience this historic property in all its glory and share it with your family. It was a pleasure to get to know you all, at least virtually.
With all best wishes
Susan Doull.

“Amazing place”
Reviewed 18 January 2018 for a stay in May 2017

This is a fantastic property. Louisa was helpful, accommodating and available. The location is great, close to Florence and Sienna, as well as many other beautiful Tuscany towns. The grocery store is a short drive and plentiful. We enjoyed walking to the Antinori winery where the lunch is amazing. There are several incredible restaurants within a short driving distance that were all memorable dining experiences. The kids loved the pool. We loved the kitchen and sitting outside to eat, drink and enjoy the view.

Thank you for taking the time to write. We loved that you and your family loved this monumental but intimate and welcoming castle as much as we do. We are also delighted to hear your good report on the impressive Antinori Cantina. It has become an much loved feature of the area. We look forward to helping you with your next gathering.
