This castle is beautiful and atmospheric and the suggested donation to enter very reasonable. On the day we visited the guide manning the entrance was exceptionally helpful and as a bonus he spoke good English which was brilliant in that it helped us to appreciate the history to best advantage. You gain some wonderful vantage points of the surrounds from the tower and every corner is interesting and picturesque. It is quite compact and can easily be seen inside 40 minutes taking plenty of time for photos and just gazing at the beautiful views. In places some of the steps are steep and narrow and the ground can be uneven and cobbled ( what you would expect from a medieval castle!) There are no facilities, toilets etc but plenty of cafes in the nearby town so you shouldn't find it a problem.
Definitely worth a visit - could be combined with wine tasting at one of the many local vineyards.
