This place has some amazing views of the ocean and interesting flora, but we found it very hard to access, paths are not secure and it is impossible to walk at the water front as lava stones are large and inaccessible partly. We've been to much nicer places on our trip so far!

I walked around in the area, but there are so many places on Sicily with much more beautiful nature.

The reserve was unkept and nothing more than a trackway to gain access to the beach. The views during our long walk were spectacular and the little village at the bottom delightful and far off the tourist map.

Ideal to park your car up on SS114 and proceed on foot down next to the seaside. It will take you like 25 mins. You will find time to walk into the core of the small fisherman's village by the sea...you cannot miss the typical chat between the locals playing cards at their standard corner :) it is also a favourite spot for teens to meet up and have a romantic word...
