The hotel is absolutely gorgeous with great staff and amazing food. Do have dinner there.
The location is a bit far from any main town as it is in the middle of a forest around lake but extremely nice and comfortable. By car you can go to any surrounding town in 20 - 30 min for perfect canoeing and motor boat rentals.
To stay for one or two nights, you will completely relax and recharged. Very romantic and cozy setting. The rooms are really nice. Lake is great for swimming. You can rent bikes at the hotel and also they have two non-motor boats to use.

Try to get room with lake view. It is a must if you are in the area. I was completely wow-ed.

Room tip: Lake view room

So imagine a hunting lodge on the edge of a crystal clear, tranquil lake, surrounded by an old man made forest that is returning to nature as a nature reserve - well this is it!
Peaceful, elegant and well managed this kana great place to spend a few days walking in the forest or cycling in the region. There are a few row boats to use or just swim in the lake! Great breakfast, just remember to book in the restaurant if you want dinner!

Wonderful idyllic place in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by forrests, absolutely perfect pristine lake, ideal for swimming, water very clear. you can take the hotel's boat and enjoy the moonlight on the lake. Rooms are good, with balcony. Breakfast ok, however, vegetarians are disadvantaged.
Before you book you should ask whether they have a wedding in the hotel, and on weekends they often have. We were tortured by extremely loud music until 2 am on Friday and Saturday.

Room tip: Lakeside rooms are much quieter

Spent two nights at the Jadgschloss with my wife and our dog, we really enjoyed it. Went there on a stopover on a longer car trip. The location is wonderful if you want to stay deep in the forest (we started a whole-day hike directly from the hotel). Prices are fair (75 EUR incl breakfast if you accept the room with the view on the forest and the parking, which we didn't mind, or you pay 10 EUR extra for the lakeview but then you have no sun in the evening; both types of rooms have balconies). The breakfast was just fine, and we really liked the restaurant. The dinner was tasty, nicely prepared and the staff was friendly and professional. The rooms offer everything you need, there's even Wi-Fi in this remote location. The hotel also has a sauna with relaxation rooms attached, all of that seemed brand new. Small minuses - once when we asked the waitress to switch on the sauna she forgot about it so we had to remind her. Also, all rooms are non-smoking but there was a smell in our room which we thought was because the room used to be a smoking room some time ago (but then when we kept the window open over night the smell seemed gone). Anyway, we'd surely love to go back to the Jagdschloss Waldsee, it's a great place.

Room tip: We thought the less expensive "forest view" rooms are just fine. You can anyway spend time at the lake, and in the afternoon you can enyou the sun on the balcony.

The compound is really away from noise and bustle. Just the right place for relaxing. You've got all You need, sauna, massages, a lake, the woods and absolutely no traffic noise. The restaurant is good and cosy. Lots of facilities outdoors. The best though are the rooms and suites, decorated like in former times. See it, you'll love it.

Room tip: not neccessary, all are very nice.
