“Wonderful Hosts and Lovely Chalet”
Reviewed 18 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Our family stayed for a week the first week of January 2016.

Oliver and Elaine were absolutely fantastic hosts, they went so far out of their way to ensure that we were happy and well informed. They were incredibly welcoming and provided us with twice daily weather updates and gave us plenty of advice on places to eat/drink/walk/ski etc. Without a doubt their kind and incredibly attentive hosting is what makes this the most relaxed and easy holiday!

The food was great and plentiful - afternoon cakes were certainly a highlight! They were also very accommodating to dietary requirements. You could help yourself to a big selection of tea/coffee/cordial throughout the day.

The rooms were very homely and most importantly very clean. The heating was also on throughout and you could control it in different rooms to ensure you never felt cold.

The jacuzzi and sauna were also excellent!

The wifi was very fast and reached all around the chalet.

The TV in the lounge has English channels, and they also have a lot of English DVDs.

Would absolutely recommend this chalet to everyone!

“A great base for fantastic walking holiday”
Reviewed 19 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Having stayed at Chalet Savoy for a Winter Activity week in February 2010, my wife and I were keen to return and managed to round up 13 members of our walking club (St Albans Rambler) to join us. The chalet was a fantastic base for the "Mont Blanc Highlights" walking itinerary put together by Oliver the owner and mountain leader. Just as Oliver looked after us well on the walks, his wife Elaine catered for us well back at the chalet.
We were fortunate to have a week of great weather giving us uninterrupted views of the the Mont Blanc Massif and surrounding mountains.
Chalet Savoy is a fantastic base for winter and summer activities and you won't find better hosts than Oliver and Elaine.

“Superb Hosting and Home-from-Home!!”
Reviewed 25 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

A group of five of us recently stayed at the Chalet Savoy and used it as our base for a Chamonix Valley Snowboard trip. Before arrival, Elaine was contactable by email and extremely helpful. The chalet was easy to find from the main road and is clearly sign posted; parking is plentiful and access to the Les Houches ski area is relatively easy with a short walk up the hill to the Pistes. We had access to a drying room and Ski storage room with facilities including ski clamps and irons to assist re-waxing.

The chalet hosts, Oliver, Elaine and Dylan the dog make the chalet, their knowledge of the area is superb and they really cannot do enough to help. Our car unfortunately broke down during our stay and not only did the hosts pick up the mantle to run us around to garages and act as interpreters with mechanics but they also took us to the various ski locations including a run to Verbier in Switzerland. The couple clearly love what they do and the area in which they do it and the facts and figures along with the constant joking really did help to make the holiday superb.

Elaine provided excellent meals with a continental breakfast each morning, afternoon tea with fantastic homemade cakes and a great, cooked, three course meal in the evening - despite all the exercise, we have all returned home having put on weight!!

This is by no means an ultra modern, chocolate box chalet but it is functional and homely and the upstairs lounge with its wood panelling and comfortable leather seating is a real home from home. The sauna and hot tub are great additions and sitting out late at night, under the stars, in the mountains, with a beer or wine in hand is as near perfection as possible.

Nothing was too much trouble for Oliver or Elaine and we were made to feel really welcome in their home and we look forward to returning in the future.

My only tip would be to make sure Dylan doesn't get hold of your gloves as you'll have a chase to get them back!!
