Grand Chalet Mont Blanc is feels more like your own chalet than an apartment. With magnificent, ever changing views of the Mont Blanc range from the balcony, it has plenty of room for six. The rooms have a lovely combination of traditional alpine and modern décor with faux animal skins and stylish slate en-suite bathrooms. The lounge and dining areas are comfortable with high ceilings and the spectacular backdrop of the mountains a constant distraction through the huge picture frame window. Well equipped and everything you could want from of a self-catering property, with all of the hotel facilities as a bonus. A nice pool, cool piano bar and inviting restaurant are right next door in the Hotel du Bois and they look after the cleaning at the end of the week too. We took our two small children who loved it and were well catered for with cot, high chair etc.
The area is fantastic; the Chamonix buses that go up and down the valley pass the end of the road which is 50 yards away. A great option for summer or winter, it is a short walk from Les Houches which is a decent size village in its own right and has everything you need. As well as the skiing there is loads for families in the area which is all within a short drive or bus ride. And if you are into mountainous walks, or just good scenery then it is the perfect place base yourself for a holiday in the great outdoors.
The location is amazing - the building is right next to Mont Blanc masiff in a much quiter area than what you find in Chamonix. The apartment met all our expectations: cleanliness, modern and cosy living room. If you plan to go on holiday with children then the apartment is really convinient due to very separate bedrooms. You can find a ski rental shop very close to the location and there is a mild ski slope for beginners 300 meters away. I would definitely recommend Mont Blanc Chalet and Les Houches location.
Thank you so much Gemma and Nick! We spent a great weekend in your chalet and we hope to come back in summer aswell! We were 3 couples with 3 babies and we had a wonderful time, nothing was missing ! Just trilled that this kind of places exist! ( Hutter family)
I stayed here in August with my girlfriend and two other couples. The chalet slept all of us comfortably and due to the nature of the layout it is incredibly quiet and we felt as if we were each in our own place - very spacious apartment indeed. It is easy to get to, parking is practical and there are two allocated spaces as well as a visitors 'overspill' area as I had family visit one day. The apartment is modern and very well kept and stocked in terms of appliances, cutlery and crockery in the kitchen. Having said that there is quite a selection of restaurants (and bars!) locally, including pizza restaurants, Indian, traditional French restaurants and not to mention the fabulous Hotel restaurant next door: Le Caprice. They serve hands down the best gourmet burger I have ever eaten(!) local beef, homemade - amazing, amongst other very yummy meals. They also have a well stocked bar to wash it all down after or to just grab a few drinks! Definitely recommend a few meals in here! Also means you can enjoy their swimming pool ;)! We chose Les Houches due to its quieter and prettier village feel over Chamonix which is only an 8-9 minute drive away anyway. The centre of the village only being a 5-7 minute walk has a supermarket, bakery and loads of sports hire shops to name just a few amenities. There are plenty of walks to enjoy and the views are truly spectacular from the chalet. We even spotted a couple of shooting stars over the mountains from the balcony on one of the clear nights. Useful note: next time I think we would hire just the 1 larger car as ChamExpress which runs from Geneva Airport have a drop off point at the Hotel du Bois next door (where the restaurant is) and there is a bus and train service to Chamonix. Amenity wise we couldn't ask for more and felt very at home. Final point living room TV has an HDMI port if you want plug in a laptop etc for movies and have a quiet night in! Highly highly recommend. C
This three bed chalet consists of a basement bedroom which is wonderfully quiet and spacious with en suite, a ground floor bedroom with en suite, a 1st floor kitchen lounge and balcony, and a 2nd floor bedroom with en suite.
All rooms are presented in excellent condition and high quality fittings and furniture. The chalet is a few years old, but feels virtually brand-new. The views from the balcony are sublime and you can never get bored of looking out at the high Alps, whatever the weather.
The chalet is serviced by the hotel next door, and therefore has access to the excellent facilities and restaurant - the staff there are also helpful.
Chamonix itself is a few minutes drive away, but there are facilities such as bars, restaurants, shops and lovely walks walks into the mountain and forest straight from the chalet.
This chalet would make a great base for winter sports, but we stayed in the summer and wee extremely pleased with our choice of accommodation, I'd definitely recommend it. You could comfortably accommodate 6 people here.
