We really enjoyed the private beach with the reef that is so close. We could easily go out and snorkel whenever we wanted even if low tide was early in the morning or late at night. The food was also really good and accommodations were nice. Grounds were well taken care of and overall we enjoyed our stay a lot (enough to stay an extra day).

If you like tranquillity, beauty, nice walks on the beach, this is a place to go. Located 68Km from Recife's airport (north-East of Brazil), the Serrambi Resort is very good option. Basic, but very good room, good food, many activities for the children. You can stay hours swimming and diving looking at the little fishes on the beach in front of the Resort. The Resort is located on the corner that you can see the sunrise in one side (the main beach) and go to the swimming pool and see the sunset. You have to stay at least 4 days to understand the tide and the best time to be diving.

Room tip: Ask for a room on the sunrise side

We spent 5 nights at Serrambi for our honeymoon in November. We had a lovely time and will most likely return in the future. I'll provide a full breakdown below, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and considered it to be a fantastic value (coming from the US).

Location:
Serrambi is about one hour south of Recife Airport and 10-15 minutes south of downtown Porto de Galinhas. It's located in a residential neighborhood in a small town. It is not walking distance to anything and the town has nothing noteworthy to offer other than a few small stands and a gas station. We spent no time in town.

We rented a car from the airport and made the easy drive. It worked out to be only about 10% more expensive than hiring a transfer from the airport. I recommend renting a car so you can explore the area. It's all highway driving and the roads are easily navigable.

Taxis from the hotel to Porto de Galinhas are about R$100 round trip. We didn't take one, but they seemed fairly convenient. You can find parking easily in downtown Porto de Galinhas near the main shopping district which has a few dozen various stores and restaurants.

Resort:
This resort is definitely geared towards families on weekends, so keep that in mind. During the weekdays, it was very quiet, but got busy with kids on Friday-Saturday. It offers 2 bars (beach and pool) and one restaurant which serves all 3 meals. There is a large pool with ample seating. There are 2 beaches (one serviced and one empty). The hotel also has a tiny beauty salon, a large watersports facility, ampitheatre, playground for kids, and a boutique.

It's not a large resort, but was spread out enough that you don't feel confined. It's on a peninsula and has a very private feel - we loved it.

Grounds:
Absolutely stunning. There was always an army of gardeners taking care of the property, so whole resort was clean and beautiful during our whole stay.

Rooms:
We stayed in a Triple Room. It was clean, but barebones. We only really slept and showered there, so it was fine. There was no sitting or working space in the room, just beds and a minibar with TV. I would not recommend that room if you're the type of person who likes to relax in the room.

Beach:
There are 2 beaches since the resort is on a peninsula. You have morning sun at the main beach where they have padded chairs, servers, and a bar. The other beach is not serviced, but has nice views of sunset. A few local beach vendors came through during the day, but not too frequently. I felt very safe leaving my items on the beach when we went swimming - it never got busy.

Staff:
The staff was very friendly and eager to help. We even noticed one of the gardeners helping a child get his kite off the ground. It was really nice of him to take time out of his day to help a little kid with his kite. Every single person we interacted with was very nice.

As a note, this is a Brasilian resort which caters to Brasilians - I only met one English speaking staff member. I recommend brushing up on your Portuguese before you go. Many of the staff did seem to speak Spanish though as we encountered a lot of Spanish speaking guests.

Food:
We chose the half-board package which includes breakfast and dinner. Both meals are served as a buffet from 7am/pm - 10am/pm. The buffets are split into a break section, 2 cold sections (meats, cheeses, salads, fruit, dessert), 1 or 2 hot stations (pasta, prepared meats, etc.), and 1 grill station.

The breakfasts were AWESOME. They have a massive selection of fruits and breads as well as a cook making fresh tapiocas, crepes, and omelettes. My one and only critique is that the coffee was awful. Everything else, especially the tapioca, was awesome.

The dinners varied from decent to great. They mix up the menu a little every night - they had churrasco night, paella night, pizza night, etc. We ate all 5 dinners there, but if we had stayed longer we would have ventured into town to try something new. There are plenty of healthy offerings too.

Bars:
There is no traditional bar service, only tables. The service is fast and drinks range from B$5 for a beer to B$15 for a capirinha. There was no nightlife at all on property, but that was one of the appeals of the hotel. If you're looking to socialize with other guests, look elsewhere. They have an extensive snack and sandwich menu which runs from B$15 - 60.

Tips:
You are not allowed to bring in outside food or drinks. They don't check your bag, so I strongly recommend bringing extra water since a bottle will cost you B$4. The gas station in town sells all of the basics like water.

Water sports:
We did an all-day boat tour of the area for B$170 - it was the highlight of our trip. Go to the water sports building to reserve a place on your first day - they'll take you to an island and few secluded beaches, as well as an over-priced touristy lunch place.

Snorkel gear is available to rent for R$30/day. During low tide, the snorkeling is AMAZING right on the beach.

Spa:
Our one regret was only getting a massage on our last day. The masseuses were fantastic and we should have gotten a massage every day. A one hour massage was B$150.

Overall:
We went for our honeymoon in November. On weekdays it was romantic, on weekends it was all kids. If you're staying Sunday-Friday it would be great, otherwise I would recommend elsewhere. I 100% would recommend this resort if you have kids - they have tons of activities.

We really really enjoyed our week stay in this hotel. It is a little bit far from the Porto de Galinhas and there are no restaurants or shops near, so you have to go everywhere or in a rented car or by taxi, which clould be easliy asked at the reception.
It is a very quiet place, even having children around we were not annoyed by the noise, entertainment programs finished early, so we could peacefully read or have some wine on the balcony. Rooms are not big, but it was OK, since we did not spend much time in the room. The room had everything that we needed - mini frigo bar, hairdrier, balcony (by the way, with children it might be better to book a first floor rooms because they can go out and in anytime they want, not having to go down the stairs. bathroom and especially shower was big. Wifi signal was good, and it can be applied to 5 devices maximum. Though on web site it was said wifi was only on public places, in fact it was all over territory - rooms, restaurantes and even beach, which was very very comfortable.
i am not sure if it was just low season, but the hotel was not overcrowded, especially on week days.
Very spacious hotel territory, with parrots, all colour fish swiming under you, good swimiing pool, spacious bar and restaurant.
Nice reception,
room cleaned and towels changed every single day, beach towel we had to change ourselves at reception.
all types of services, including foto sessions, touristic tours, and beach service was very quick and good, and there was not a single person trying to sell you nuts, cola, coconuts etc etc etc.
we spent time in the beach the whole day, changing bewteen direct sun and sunumbrellas (which were more than enough for all those people who stayed in the hotel),
One day we went to buggy tour (by the wau accordning to the local rules buggy could not go on the beaches, only roads. but that was fun! we went to main beaches, Muro Alto, Cupe Beach, Pontal Maracaipe, Maracaipe Beach. And ours was if not the most beautiful but good - when low tide, enough space for swiming, perfect for children, and when high tide - there was a coral wall protecting the beach from high waves, so we could swim all day long without danger. from other side of the hotel there was another very nice beach, but more for walking or running, than swimming.
and what we really enjoyed was food! we had half pension, there was just plenty of choice at dinner and breakfast, we ate like elefants!
drinks were very expensive. almost twice of what you could buy in Poto de Galinhas, for example. but anyway we boujght and we also twice went to Portos supermarkets (they are very modest!!!) and bought some drinks (wine) and fruits that we ate and drank in the room.
we took a taxi in the arport Recife, 130 reails one way till the hotel. 60-70 km, and we agreed with the same driver to take us back in a week.
Highly recommended for both children and adults, families and pairs!!!

if we speak about minuses - Comparatively far from Puerto de Galinhas. You have to rent a car or go by taxi. that cost in November 100 reales to and back. or 60 reales one way.
some pebblestones and clamshells on the sand.
expensive menu.

Room tip: for children better to stay on first floor.

This resort is great. It was my first experience in a resort and couldn't be better. Went with wife and 5 year old daughter. It's not a big resort but is good with the things offered. Recreation for kids is amazing and I hardly saw my daughter, who wants to expend the hole day playing with the great team of monitors. The beach inside the hotel is wonderful, and you can see several natural pools with different kinds of fishes. The swimming pool is goo, not amazing. Not so big, but very pleasant. You can do scuba dive with the school inside the hotel. The staff is great and allways want to help.Wifi is good and works in the hole hotel, for free. The downside is the prices charged in the hotel. It's not all inclusive, so you have to pay for drinks and lunch. Everything is very expensive. Our dinner was included, and it was okay, not great. The bathroom in the room is a little old, but the room itself is big, with good beds. It´s far from Porto de Galinhas, but you won´t miss it, since you have all you need in the hotel. Something very annoying and even not polite is the warning that say you can´t bring food or drinks, even water to the hotel. With the water costing 4 reais the small bottle, It's impossible to consume it exclusively in the hotel. With it was an all inclusive, I could understand, but not in this way. Anyway, It's nothing that could disturb the wonderful stay, especially because We completely ingnored the warning. I saw a lot of couples in the hotel, but I think it's not the best choice. This is a hotel for families, not for couples.
