“Wow what a lovely cottage”
Reviewed 1 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Having just come back from a very relaxing two weeks stay at this beautiful cottage, I highly reccomend it.....From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we walked out the door to come home it was just perfect. It had everything in it that we needed, home from home. Thank you to Cliff for letting this lovely cottage out. We intend to book again for next year...

“The view alone is worth it”
Reviewed 25 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

The photos do not do Seaside Cottage justice. It is literally within a "pebble's toss" of the beach (and the sea, when the tide is in) and a short walk from the town and the leisure centre. Both my daughters enjoyed their bedroom, situated on a gallery and reached via a spiral staircase. The views across the Forth towards Edinburgh and across the bay to Burntisland are wonderful. With the changes in the tide and the light, it is a constantly changing scene. One of my daughters spent a fortnight painting the view across the bay.

If you are looking for quiet, but within easy reach of a town, then this is a good choice. It is a place which is good for the soul.

Even if the weather is not wonderful, Burntisland is a good base to use to explore Fife. In Burntisland, we particularly recommend: "The Burntisland Sands Hotel" (at the end of the road, scarcely 50 metres away) for a drink and an evening meal, and "Potter About" in the High Street for tea and cake and an opportunity to paint your own pot.

“Little gem in fantastic location.”
Reviewed 12 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed at Seaside Cottage with another couple and it was an ideal place for a short break. The location at the edge of the Forth is stunning, we spent many a happy hour out on the verandah and sitting on the seawall, enjoying the sun all day, from breakfast to gin & tonics and barbecues. Clive even managed a dip! The views are fantastic, and you could spend all day watching the sea, wildlife, Edinburgh lights at night and the shipping up and down the Firth of Forth. A day trip by train into Edinburgh, a wonderful trip on a boat from South Queensferry, and a trip up the coast to the lovely Fife fishing villages were great things to do. If we go again we'll make sure we take the boat trip where you can stop on the island for a couple of hours to picnic and explore the abbey. The cosy cottage is well equipped and very comfortable, lovely garden, and walking to the town via beach and links for the good shopping etc is just right. We didn't take our dog, but certainly would next time, beach and water ideal!
