“Logie Country House... What wedding dreams are made of”

OK, I'm sorry in advance for such a long review, but I can't summarise my experience of Logie Country House in just a few short sentences!

After my husband & I got engaged in October 2014, I knew that I wanted to go and view Logie Country House straight away. I had briefly met Tim & Stef (the owners) at a wedding exhibition (with a bride-to-be bestie!) and I had already fallen a bit in love with the place just from the pictures. So when we got back from our engagement, I booked a viewing of the venue with Craig and my mum for when she was up visiting from London.

The first time you enter Logie Country House is unforgettable. Stef gave us a tour of the recently refurbished property and we fell more in love with it with every room we saw! Stef's enthusiasm for the House and her anecdotal stories made us feel so close to it and we couldn't stop imagining our friends and family having the best time in this unbelievable house! It was when we walked across to the ballroom, subtly concealed as part of the old stables, and we walked in that the deal was confirmed. My mum burst into tears and that was it, Logie Country House was the only place we could imagine our wedding!

Then came around 18 months of planning and preparing for our perfect weekend. Logie's in-house event manager, Gillian, was our main point of contact for all the logistics and catering. Craig & I were really, very, very keen to explore the option of an outdoor wedding (a pretty bold decision in Scotland...), but the courtyard was looking a bit too small for the number of guest we would have. Instead, we really wanted to do the ceremony out on the main lawn in front of the house, by the River Urie. This had never been done before, so we had a lot of conversation back and forth about the logistics and trying to figure out how to make it work. Stef, Tim & Gillian were so open to the idea and allowed us to be as creative as we wanted to make our wedding dreams a reality!

It was a close call, with the weather forecast looking pretty grim in the days running up to the big day, but we lucked out with sun and dryness to allow us to have our outdoor ceremony on the lawn (first one ever - did I already say that?!) :)

Since Logie strongly encourage their brides and grooms use Hudson's catering for the wedding day, I feel I should provide some assurance... For us, the catering provided Hudson's was first class standard. Since the wedding we have had numerous messages from our guests complimenting the food - everything from the canapés, to the wedding breakfast, to the evening buffet. Rest assured that Logie ask you to use Hudson's for a reason - they are simply the best.

But down to what this is really all about - the venue and the service and our experience at Logie Country House. We cannot describe in words how fantastic the weekend was. First, everything was taken care of - there was nothing for us to worry about. Gillian, and her team, were all over the wedding set-up logistics. More than that, it was calm and relaxed - what more can you want as a bride? The house was in perfect condition for all of our friends and family arriving, with the fridges and cupboards stocked with some basic supplies to see us through until our shopping delivery arrived! (Stef also permitted us to have an early check-in which was amazing!!)

The rooms were all perfect, with plenty linen / towels for everyone. The pool was a quick hit with the kids and the hot tub was a winner for my bridesmaids! The house was the perfect setting - so relaxed and allowed all of our friends and family to mingle, chat and be merry :)

We were introduced to Florin, the house manager, who was honestly FANTASTIC. He was super friendly, and more than that, so discreet. He introduced himself, gave me his phone number and said he was available any time if we needed anything. But then after that, the house was ours.

Really, all ours.

Having the house from Friday to Monday meant our guests could really relax. They were able to treat the weekend like their own little retreat as much as it was ours. They could watch TV, go for a swim, go for a walk, sit in the sun, make a cup of tea... I loved seeing everyone so relaxed - it was one of the best things for me.

It is really hard for me to sum up in words how phenomenal this venue is. It has been restored to the perfect standard; maintaining its heritage and storyline, while being modern in its commodities and setup. The flexibility and accommodation provided by the team at Logie means every experience can be your own. It's not a cookie-cut wedding venue where you have a structure and that's that - you can be creative and really use it in the way you want to.

We loved every single minute of our weekend, from start to finish, and wish we could relive it again. We will treasure our memories at Logie Country House for our entire lives - as will our family and best friends.

THANK YOU Tim, Stef, Gillian, Florin and the rest of the Logie Country House for your warm welcome and hard work. I wish there was more I could say!

“Stunning and first class wedding location”
Reviewed 17 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We hired Logie for my daughter's wedding. The location, the quality of the accommodation and the facilities are all first class. The management and their hard working and friendly staff, were very attentive and helpful. Special thanks to Gillian Black, the Events Manager, and Florin, the House Manager. They helped to make a special occasion even more special. All of our guests, particularly our American visitors who stayed at Logie, and our wedding guests, were enthralled by Logie House. The Ballroom was beautifully presented for the wedding reception. The catering for the wedding reception was provided by Hudsons. Again, this was first class. Our special thanks go to Head Chef Ann Milne and her staff who prepared an exceptional customised menu for the wedding. I cannot recommend Logie and Hudsons highly enough. It was the perfect wedding venue.

“Another visit and another great stay”
Reviewed 13 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

I can't get over how things at Logie are just right, every time. The little things that other venues let slip, the little personal touches and the homely feel. I feel like I am moving in on each and every visit! This is down to the super attentive staff and their attitude towards their job.

On this visit, I stayed in a room that overlooked the courtyard, not as big as the room in my last visit but equally as grand. The furniture was all antique and the decor was personal to it. This is so much better than rooms all set out and decorated the same.

My favourite room is however still the kitchen, if I could take one thing away that would be it. Love sitting there having a long social breakfast while all the sore heads are fixed and everyone makes excuses why they can't leave just yet.

Back here in December for another stay and cant wait!

“Magical memories of a special day”
Reviewed 1 May 2016 for a stay in September 2015

My daughter and her fiance searched for a venue that ticked all the boxes for their wedding and had almost decided to go abroad when she discovered Logie - before they went to see it, we knew we'd be packing for Sorrento if they didn't like it! But they knew right away it was everything they'd hoped for. In September last year, we all had the most amazing weekend, the house is fantastic, the food by Hudsons beautifully prepared and presented and so many thanks were due to Gillian who was on hand all day on the wedding day itself, overseeing everything, and kept us all on schedule and less stressed! Florin, who lives next to the main house, was available for any problems or queries throught the weekend, but all we had was a blown fuse which he quickly reset, and questions on how to work the fancy coffee machine! The house is a wonderful place for people to come together in comfortable spacious surroundings that are modern yet homely, with a pool, outdoor hot tub, cinema room and massive kitchen where we all congregated regularly for breakfast , snacks and farewell meal on our last night. This venue can be for as intimate or full blown an event as you wish and you will not be disappointed.

“Perfect location wedding venue - everything we hoped for”
Reviewed 10 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We booked Logie Country House for a week to host a family vacation combined with an intimate venue for our low-key wedding (the ceremony was performed in the house itself!), and on both counts Logie surpassed our expectations, giving us a trip and a wedding that none of us will forget!

As we were planning this from the US we had not previously visited Logie (although we knew the area a little) but we booked it based on the reviews we had read previously, the highly informative and well presented website and through many emails with Stef, the owner, who was amazingly helpful and accommodating with all our questions and requests (from organizing cots and highchairs, to helping us organize a pre-order of groceries awaiting us on arrival).

The house itself was all we hoped it would be - historical charm that gave us the sense of staying somewhere with its own story, but with all the modern conveniences to make our stay very comfortable (multiple fridges and dishwashers and coffee machines, indoor heated pool, hot tubs, cinema room etc). It easily accommodated the whole party of 17 adults, 2 teens and 5 under-5s in both wings of the house, with the main kitchen/snug and the pool becoming the focal points where people spent most of their time. The bedrooms were very comfortable and well equipped, with plenty of spare bedding and towels, and the main suite was enormous (try the bath!!). The sitting room turned out to be a perfectly sized room to host the wedding ceremony, and the dining room seated us all with no problem for the post-wedding dinner. We even all ended up in the cinema room later on that evening for a post-wedding film, sat on beanbags, drinking wine, so we pretty much used the whole house on the day of the wedding!

The house is set in wonderful grounds (quiet despite being close to the A96) and with a great view of Bennachie, and the kids and the dog all had a good time exploring.

During our stay we were exceptionally well looked after by Florin, the house manager, who was attentive and quick to respond to our questions as needed whilst being discreet and leaving us to our own devices for most of the time.

All in all we can't speak highly enough of Logie and Stef and Florin - they combined to make this a truly amazing experience for everyone in our party and we all go home with wonderful memories of our stay and our wedding!
