I took my partner here in hopes of a romantic wine tasting adventure and that is exactly what we got! The knowledge Paolo shared with us about the grapes, wine, meats, cheeses and bread made for an even more wonderful and enlightening experience. The environment was nothing but charming, as is Paolo! Overall I would recommend visiting this humble wine and food tasting experience to anyone who comes to Italy. Thank you again for showing us and unforgettable time! We will be ordering the Rose to be shipped to the US soon. <3

We booked this based on other reviews here thinking they’d been exaggerated, but they really have not! Paolo picked us up from the train station and couldn’t have been more helpful and informative! The wines, meats and cheeses are incredible and we’re looking into getting some of the wine sent over to the UK! Cannot recommend highly enough, if you do only one thing in Florence make it this!!!

Once in a lifetime experience, check. A family run operation, check. A hard working, genuine and caring owner, check. Paulo and his family are the real deal and what he has put together in regards to your visit is unlike anything you will do in your time in Italy. Thought has gone into every aspect, from him making sure you can find the location, to the overview of the area/history of his family's operation and to the food placed in front of you.

The train from Florence to SIGNA is simple and Paulo picked us up at the station, driving us past his vineyards and the Medici House. Once we arrived at the Bottega, we were part of the family. He introduced us to his parents and went down to the cellar for an epic tasting. Paulo has thought out every pairing, keeping all dishes simple and impactful. You walk through a cheese room, a meat room and a dessert area, all while sampling his family's wine. The pictures in other reviews give you an idea of what you will see, but know that you won't leave hungry. We were lucky enough to sample a cake homemade by his mom, still warm, at the end. Mom, like Paolo, is a magician with food.

We can't thank you enough for the experience and implore those visiting Florence to step out of city (and perhaps out of their comfort zone) and head to Bottega Pecchiolo for something they will never forget.

This was truly the best experience we have had on this trip. It was a real local experience. The location was very convenient as we were staying at The Old Cave (through airbnb) and very close to our cottage. Paolo is such a passionate person about his wine cheese and meat. He has so much knowledge and answers all the questions. He is very kind and he didn't rush or anything despite the experience meant to last up to 2 hours and we spent there 3 hours as there was just so many things to talk to him about ( plus there were 5 of us). The wine and food were just so delicious !!!! You can't really describe it - you have to try it. It was our first wine tasting session ( not really tasting as he opened around 5 bottles all together for the 5 of us !!!!! (2 rose, 2 red and 1 sweet wine ). When we looked at other places we were worried that we will feel intimidated as we never been on wine tasting and most places are quite posh but here we felt so comfortable and welcome that I would love to visit Paolo again next time in Tuscany! You need to go hungry as there is so much food and wine for you to try that you won't leave hungry and its only for 25 euros per person!!! You are not pressured of feel obliged to buy anything at all!!! He is just happy that he could share all this with other people. There is a possibility to order his wines and food to ship to other countries which we plan to do, as after trying what real wine tastes ( without any sulphites chemicals) I can't drink the wines from supermarkets anymore.

Recommend!!!!!!!!!

To truely experience Tuscany this is a must do! Paulo is a very welcoming, charming and open person. He will make you feel very special. This exceeded our expectations! It is a very different than just going to a restaurant and trying some wine. It is more like a journey where you get to experience new flavours and it’s all very tasty! Paulo is passionate about his vineyard, wines and food and you will definitely be impressed. This was a great evening with my family and Paulo, chatting and laughing with amazing wine and food. We are also greatfull to be able to learn so much about different cheeses, meat, wine making and mixing different tastes together. Highly recommended!!!
