We stayed at Strand camping Dunbeg Co Clare last weekend. What a super camping site. Run to the highest standards. Fabulous facilities and extra personal touches. Beautiful cosy toilet and shower block with radio sounding in the background, cleaned several times a day. You literally would see a spec on the sinks or floors. Indoor and covered outdoor kitchen with seating. Little tea and coffee room with pods and biscuit bars run off an honesty box. Lovely outdoor seating area with tables chairs and benches . Laundry facilities, enclosed children's play area with goals, enclosed play area for your dog's to run around ( yes I'm not kidding ) with bins provided, excellent spacious spotless pitches . Very reasonable prices which includes everything inc your showers. ( Easy known the wonderful owners are motorhomers themselves ) Saw Jamie lending a young family a table and chairs as they didn't have their own. The personal touches are endless to ensure you get the best experience. Peer few hundred yards up the road, rocky beach type across the road, white strand beach a 20 to 30 min walk. Village with pubs, shop and restaurants 15 min walk. Lovely quiet relaxing camping site. Fantastic base for touring around Clare. A credit to Jamie and Amanda..... Would highly recommend

Thank you for your detailed review. As you say we have MH and know what we look for when choosing campsites to stay on and we try to incorporate what we look for on our site. I have been on a campsites where the children have no designated play area so they are kicking a ball around near their pitch and I just sit there nervously waiting for the ball to hit me/my van/my bbq etc. The solution a safe enclosed ball game area, happy children and less nervous MH and caravan owners. The dog area is great for letting dogs socialise and handy for the morning and last thing at night stroll.

Recently visited Strand Camping for the third time. It's now one of our favourite sites. Jamie and Amanda are friendly, accommodating and professional. They have clearly worked hard and invested much to make this little site so perfect. The facilities are always pristine and well maintained.
The location is quiet and beautiful and only a short walk to the village. It is a perfect base for visiting the many beauty spots, cliffs and beaches on the Loop Head peninsula to the south, or north towards Spanish Point and Lahinch.
Highly recommended and excellent value.

Thank you for your review and for taking the time to write it. And thank you for coming back to stay again. I agree Doonbeg is a great location base for exploring around west Clare.
We do try to put back into the campsite to try to ensure the people who stay with us will chose to come back and stay again.

Just returned from Strand Camping and it’s really fab. It is so well thought out and amazingly spotless. Jamie and Amanda are great hosts and their hard work shines through from the toilets, showers, kitchen, laundry room Coffee Machine I could go on and on Believe me it’s great. We loved it.

A superb campsite. Everything you need is here. We pitched our tent at Pitch #12 which comes complete with your own private barn, which has a fridge, seating for eating, chairs for relaxing, and clothes line. What more could you ask for? The campsite itself is very well run, all the facilities you need, everything is spotlessly clean. Great location, only a few minutes' walk to Doonbeg village, and a short drive to Kilkee, where we went for a larger selection of eateries and takeaway. Strand Camping is a great place, our second time here and will be back!

We had a fabulous stay at Strand Camping, Doonbeg. The camp site is small and uncrowded, with very spacious and private pitches. The toilets, showers and kitchen area were impeccable and there were excellent laundry facilities. Jamie and Amanda were great hosts. The site is a short walk from Doonbeg village and there is so much to do and see in this part of Clare. Clare is a beautiful county and I would highly recommend Strand Camping for any campers visiting the area.
