The villa is located in the hills, above Omis, about a 30 minute drive from the town, and less than 10 minutes from the motorway exit. The village is very peaceful, away from the main road and consists of a clutch of houses (some of them clearly ancient) and a modern church. There's no shop in the village, but there is a bread van every morning, with great local bread, croissants and other pastries and a later grocery van which we didn't use. There are supermarkets in nearby villages and in Omis.
The accomodation is generous, with a large 4-bed house and a separate flat with en-suite, around the pool. There's parking for at least two cars in the shade by the house. The pool is well maintained and heated by the solar heating. There's room to eat inside and outside, and the outside area is well shaded (important in August!), and has a barbeque.
All of the accomodation is of a high standard and very clean and well-maintained.
Our hosts were lovely and very welcoming - they left us some basics and a substantial welcome snack, and gave us a parting gift at the end of the week. During the week they were very helpful with suggestions of things to do and restaurant recommendations, and came to check on the pool while we were out.
The area has the spectacular Cetina gorge, which joins the sea at Omis. There's white-water rafting down the gorge (both family oriented and moderately challenging) and there's also a zip-wire course over the gorge (we did both with the kids). There are also boat trips up the gorge from Omis, which we didn't do. Omis is a bustling little resort, with a compact old town of narrow streets and a modern marina and big town beach - almost sandy, which is unusual for Croatia. There are plenty of nice places to eat in the town (and good ice-cream). The beach is busy, but has lots for kids to do. There are also plenty of resorts further down the coast (we went snorkelling at Baska Voda), with the more usual pebbly beaches.
A fantastic week - thanks!
We had an amazing stay at Villa Fuga. Suzana was a thoughtful and helpful host that made our stay very pleasant. Our visit was not only full of great activities such as white water rafting, great beaches, boating and some tourism but we also had at home time by the pool and making bar-b-ques. The house was comfortable and well equipped. The children particularly loved the pool and the pastries from the early morning pastry truck!
Suzana is was a pleasure to meet you and your beautiful family!
Stayed here for several nights in late August. Beautiful home with all amenities you would need to cook, relax, and spend time with loved ones. It's a great central location to travel to cities of the Croatian coast such as Split and Dubrovnik. Near by town of Omis was a great add on to our trip as well. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend
Villa Fuga is a fantastic place to stay. Greeted on arrival by Suzana, Zoran and their family. Friendly, wonderful hosts who went above and beyond to make sure our holiday was everything you’d want it to be and were always on hand.
Villa spotless and very well equipped, situated in a very quiet and peaceful village, perfect to relax in but within easy distance to the local town Omis and from which to explore the beautiful Dalmatian coast and countryside. Krka National Park and its beautiful waterfalls a must do day trip!
Highly recommend Villa Fuga!
We arrived and were greeted by Suzana and her family, who had made a delicious snack for us, very welcome after a long journey. The villa was very well resourced and extremely clean and well thought out.
Suzana was there at the end of the phone if there were any problems and to assist with any issues.
The views were awesome, but as the villa is situated in a small village, this did mean you had to drive everywhere. However we did enjoy buying bread from the van that delivered every morning.
Thank you for sharing your special place with us
