The location can’t be beat, and the restauranteurs — who encourage you to instagram and Facebook your experience — know it. Sitting on an rock outcropping that either is just offshore or rises from the beach depending on the tides, it is an incredibly picturesque setting. That said, the food was good but not particularly memorable. My father ordered the Zanzibari spaghetti (“Tambi”) which was probably the best dish at the table, and the ice cream was also quite good, infused with local spices and not too sweet. We also enjoyed the octopus salad starter. But I was deeply disappointed that cocktails were not offered that night because of the lack of ice, so if you are going hoping to enjoy a drink from the best looking cocktail list I’ve seen on Zanzibar, temper your expectations.
