We spent 11 wonderful nights at Le Canonnaire celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.
On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Alexandra who welcomed us in a very friendly yet professional manner.
Our room, 619, was located in a very peaceful area of the hotel and had the most beautiful views of the sea and gardens.
We choose the all inclusive option which proved to be excellent value. The food in all three restaurants was very good with such a wide variety available each night, The service and quality of food the Navigator and the Serenta were exceptional. You must book both these restaurants in advance, this is very easy to do and really worth while. Within the all inclusive you also have the use of facilities at the Mauricia and Victoria hotels. To celebrate our anniversary we had a lovely meal in the Italian restaurant at the Victoria. The staff here made us feel most welcome and really did make the night very special, something we will never forget.
There were so many activities and water sports in the all inclusive you could try something different every day. We even tried water skiing, which proved to be a really enjoyable challenge. Thanks must go to Steven for his patience and good humour.
The hotel, grounds, pool and beach are all maintained to a very high standard. The staff are all so friendly and courteous, they really do a fantastic job. Special mention must go to Alexandra who went above and beyond to ensure we had the most amazing holiday.
We hope to return to Le Canonnaire and will definitely use Beachcomber in the future.
Thanks for the memories

Good Morning. We are happy to receive your review after your stay at Canonnier Beachcomber. It is the more so satisfying to learn that you had a nice time ‘like in paradise’ during that stay and that you enjoyed all our facilities and products. Actually, this is what we work hard for everyday on the resort: to keep all our guests as happy as possible by going the extra mile with our ‘friendly and perfect’ service level. We make it a point to attend to our guests in such a way that everyone feels at home, relaxed and happy with our food in the 3 restaurants, our activities on land and at sea, our accommodation and for many, with the peaceful atmosphere that we can offer around our garden. This was the best idea ever. We have decided according to ratings on TripAdvisor to choose the Beachcomber Le Cannonier Hotel in the north of the island. It was quite an experience, as we have visited many Hotels of this caliber in Mauritius. Being of Swiss origin, we are very selective of quality, standards and cleanliness. The result was absolutely, to all our expectations. On our arrival the check in was handled in the most professional manners and a special invitation for the evening of a welcome cocktail with Management and staff was organised, what a charming lot. The General Manager Mr.Kervin Rayroux personally advised us with some secret spots to visit on the island. After a beautiful selection of tropical cocktail and snacks, we moved to the Navigator Restaurant overlooking the bay with the Coin de Mere in the distance. Well the service and food was absolutely out of this world and suggested wine was harmonized with the seafood dinner on offer. With a first full day behind us we landed back in our spacious and well equipped newly renovated room for a good night sleep. The morning Breakfast was an other experience and it was other amazing experience, with oven fresh breads and pastry backed instantly and according to the flow of the customers, hot and crispy the way we like it. The entire food section is not only well placed but also segregated so that all tastes can enjoy the food according to needs and liking. I was lucky to meat Chef Coopen him self, a capacity in his field and dedicated chef very in to the chefs internationally, like the passed great chef Paul Bocuse, which has taken special time to show me his laboratory, a dream for a Chef (HACCP facility an Internationale health and safety standard, we where explained), the computerized and electronic equipment surpassed all expectation. There are other areas of mentioning, for example it has a fabulous Gym with all sorts of equipment for the sports enthusiast, as well as a beautiful spar in the Buniantree believe it or not. There is a high tech children club specially for tanagers and separately for the smaller kid's, so they don't inter fear.

Room tip: Rooms north east are quieter, September October are good for a Mauritian Trip

Good Morning. We were really delighted to have made you enjoyed a ‘real Mauritian experience’ at Canonnier Beachcomber. It is very satisfying for us to note from your comments that have tasted to the same product as reported on Tripadvisor. We have a genuine product that is in line with all that is written about us and our service which is often rated as ‘out of this world’ by our first-time comers or regular guests. We are so happy that we could satisfy your ‘selective of quality standards’ during that stay which we reckon was a very enjoyable one. This is what we look forward when we welcome a guest at the resort: that he or she may take full advantage of all our offers and leave with a very good impression. We thank you for the kind words that you had for all our team members and we hope to see you again soon. Kindest regards.

After 2 nights at another hotel - this was our next home for 4 nights. Chose this hotel for its location and the buzz/vibe and it did not disappoint at all. Our room was a deluxe sea facing room - away from the main areas and on border of Club Med next door (where they are busy with refurbs) and it was great. Once again we were upstairs so it was a bit more private. The rooms are spacious, as are the bathrooms and the revamp has definitely paid off.
The hotel has a great vibe to it - was quite busy but yet it didn't feel over crowded at all. Most was seeing everyone at breakfast at the main restaurant - otherwise during the day, guests are just scattered.
Navigator Restaurant - 2 great evening meals here - Rakesh, Meetun and Gogi - you guys are just amazing. So nice to just chat and interact with you all, made such a difference to just being "served" your meals and drinks. Gogi, you need to learn to maybe pour single tots? Or maybe not...hahahaha
The boat house staff were fabulous. Roshan, you have the patience of a saint - trying to get me to stand up and ski......thank you for that! We had so much fun and my boyfriend (who was a natural on the water) loved learning to ski and then wakeboard too.
When the weather turned a bit - we chose to partake in some archery! Adil, you have an amazing sense of humour and I would never have hit those few bulls eyes, if it wasn't for you. Thanks for the laughs!
We treated ourselves to a Discovery Massage in the Banyan Trees..............wow! It's a must. Thought it would be noisy as the location is near the main pool - but once in your cabin in the trees, it is tranquil and you are soon whisked away to relaxation land! We also used the sauna/steam room before our massage which was lovely too...
Being a travel agent, I can now see why the hotel is always so full and busy and we battle to find availability. It is a fantastic 4* hotel with superb service all round.
The small beach didn't bother us, we kinda decided to hide away near the boat house on some loungers there, which was fantastic. Sea shoes are recommended so you can walk about on/over the coral bits. Weather was a bit windy on odd days but found it very sheltered and protected.
Overall an awesome hotel that surprised my 5* boyfriend completely - and a hotel I would very happily return to with my 2 boys for a real family holiday. Teens club in the old lighthouse is fantastic and the general kids area too - really cool! Loved it all......
