Delicious food on the banks of the River Wye. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. Not the cheapest but quality like this doesn't come cheap!
Beautiful walks nearby along the river or up to Symonds Yat rock.

We went to the Saracens Head this evening having eaten at this pub during the day in the past and been satisfied. However the evening menu was very limited. The mains were expensive and quite small
Not good value for money. The desert selection was also limited and at £7.50 we thought expensive. So we declined. Altogether a disappointing evening. The only good thing about this restaurant was the friendly staff.

Loved the restaurant and location.
Helpful friendly staff and good food.
My sat nav took us to the wrong side of the river, which cost us 20mins. Head for Symonds Yat East.
We will be back and hopefully to stay overnight.

After a hard day of riding in Forrest of Dean we treated ourselves for some nice dinner at the Saracens head. Very friendly place with lots of families and a nice welcoming fire! Staff were superb and food wonderful. Would recommend..

My eldest daughter moved to the Forest of Dean earlier this year and Saracens Head has become the family favourite venue for a nice night out. Usually busy and bustling at weekends, booking is usually essential tat the weekends. The menu covers all the usual pub favourites; burger, fish and chips, steak and also has good range of seasonal dishes using great quality ingredients. Soft shell crab sandwich has become a family reference point for something tasty. Asparagus was in season on our first visit - and an excellent three variety starter was really good if a little small on portion size, a sharing platter of charcuterie was snaffled greedily by all four of us. Mains went well salmon, steak and belly pork all got a thumbs up. The Saracens Head does what it does well and is clearly popular as a result. We will be back.
