For those who want a taste of the real Spain, Casa Muneca in Gaucin is an ideal property. Good value, very well equipped, comfortable, with wonderful views from the sun terrace across to the mountains and to Gibraltar to the south west. It is very well situated in a quiet lane (traffic free) within a very short walking distance of good restaurants, taverns and a small supermarket. Free parking is within a short walk. Gaucin is a typical Spanish/Moorish whitewashed village and well placed for visiting (by car) Ronda, Seville, Jerez, Cadiz and Gibraltar as well as the coast which is about 40 minutes drive. We would recommend this property.
Casa Muneca was delightful, well equipped kitchen, bath, nice terrace and view. Easy to get to market, restaurants. Perfect vacation getaway!
Perched near the top of a hillside overlooking a very deep valley, Casa Muneca offers super views over mountains, valleys, forest and farmland. The facilities of the house are first class, wanting for very little in a village that offers all you need for a rural holiday. If there's one piece of advice - in hiring a car, make sure its small as the streets in Gaucin are not generous
Casa Muneca sits at one of the highest points in Gaucin so provides a spectacular view down to Gibraltar and across to the Rif mountains of Morocco. The terrace receives sun from noon hour on so it is a lovely spot to relax and enjoy a snack or a meal. The house is well appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay. There is a well stocked collection of DVDs, books, and CDs, and the kitchen has a full range of everything that might be needed for meal preparation. There is an excellent food store close by and many good restaurants within a five minute walk. The local manager of the house, Agustina, is welcoming, friendly, and always available to help with anything guests might need. Nights can be cool but there is good heating from a gas heater, a fireplace, and a small electric heater in the bedroom. Hikers and birdwatchers will be able to enjoy countless trails and many migratory birds as well as local eagles and raptors.
