We read quite a bit of very positive reviews about Soso so we simply had to try. Fortunately, our hotel was able to book a table on a very crowded Friday night after we were told, in person, that no tables were available until Sunday.
The food was outstanding-five out of five stars. This included a very fresh salad and an interesting rolled eggplant starter. Delicious. The Mains, grilled sea bass and Pork filet with a honey mustard and sesame coating were delicious.
The downside is service. Nothing spectacular--3 out of 5 stars at best. But it was the obvious inconsistency that was most troubling. Servers and management seemed overly warm and friendly with some diners and cool and aloof with others including us. Of course, regulars should be recognized, but not at the expense of other diners. We were left wondering whether success and positive reviews have swelled the heads of staff? When we gave feedback to our concierge who booked the table, she said that she, too, felt the snobbery and pretension across the telephone line. Too bad.
So go for the food, and maybe you'll be among the lucky diners with whom staff is warm and friendly. Otherwise, like us, you'll have a so-so experience.
