We enjoyed staying at Eagles Nest. The food at dinner was wonderful!! The bathroom has the banana leaf toilet but, it was very clean. They delivered hot water for the shower and again it was clean. The camp is in a great location since it is so close to the park. We needed to have breakfast early for our walking safari and they had it ready right on time. The staff here are very nice and did an excellent job meeting our needs. We also wanted to mention we toured with Lifetime Safaris and they are the BEST. We did a lot of research and they came up with great ratings and prices. I would recommend them without hesitation

This lodging had been recommended and reviews gave me high hopes for this camp, however, it fell short. We were aware that the tents were a little small for two, so my travel companion and I chose separate tents, which was a good decision. The problems started before arrival when we could not find the place. We were traveling from Tanzania with a Tanzanian guide and there is no road signage on the main roads at all. When asked in two towns, no one knew the camp and we were directed to the wrong park gate. We arrived after 6pm and it was quite a discussion to get to the camp but we were allowed to travel through the park to the other gate in order to reduce the travel time. It was well and truly dark by the time we 'sort of' found the place. We happened to just catch a glimpse of sign which was laying on the ground having fallen over at some time. The lodging is on the top of a steep hill and even though we were expected, there was only one light showing up there. We arrived in a vehicle with auto transmission and 4 wheel drive that wasn't quite up to the very steep pitch. This must happen at times, as the manager arranged for our car to be securely parked elsewhere and he came down and took us up in his vehicle. Though it isn't their fault, this steep grade was problematic on several occasions during our two day stay. I became ill and could not have managed to climb that hill and though the second day we were able to get almost to the top, there is a ridge that required several persons to push us over to arrive in the parking lot. When we finally made it to the top, there was almost no lighting. No candles on the tables, no flashlights. We were now almost 8pm and we just wished to eat and go to bed. Despite their being ready for us since 7, there was still a delay in food and we finally had to ask them to provide some lighting for us as we could not see adequately to walk safely around. Dinner was fine but clearly the soup had started as a prepackaged item with some additions. Lunch box was okay, breakfasts was limited, particularly for someone with gluten restrictions. Scrambled eggs were chopped and hashed and looked more like ground. No meat options for lunch due to lack of refrigeration (as it was explained to us). Thankfully there was a good supply of bananas as I was limited to this for meals due to belly issues. Not all staff has adequate english though all were pleasant and did their best to be helpful. Lighting to our tents was by cell phone light app the first night. We had the first two tents after the dining room. Great view. Coffee wake up was provided and nice to enjoy in front of the tent. Only one of us had milk provided, however. Eco bathroom and bucket shower was adequate. In the daytime, the place looks a bit like a construction site as the company has plans, but they seem slow to completion. This was our first lodging in Uganda, and seemed to be a reflection of what to expect at a number of our lodgings. I couldn't help but feel some of the negatives such as limited meal options and lighting was due to the current impact and reduction in tourism - cost saving measures.

The room is actually a tented room with two beds, small but well kept and very clean.
It was our first hotel after Kampala so we were a little surprised. The toilet is a "banana-leaf" eco toilet, very amusing and a bit challenging to use but very clean, no bad smell at all. The shower is actually a container that is held up with a rope, they bring hot water that is boiled in fire. We needed a re-fill and the water smells like campfire but if you know what to expect it is truly amusing and fells like an adventure. The service was great, they were very friendly (we were the only guests that night) and the food was very good, especially dinner.
The view is very beautiful and the feeling of being right in the heart of nature is amazing.
For young / young at heart adventurous people it is a great choice.

if you intend to visit the splendid, underrated, mburo national park and do not insist in upmarket luxury and a pool (in which case you should consider mihingo lodge); this is the place for you. the tents with a bathroom in the back and a little private terrace in the front indeed give you a "Hemingway feel" - more than any luxury accomodation. bathrooms are splendid; you could even have your waterbag serving as shower filled with warm water which we did not do. the restaurant is, at least at times, not a place where you would want to spend a lot of time; but you can always retreat to your private little terrace and enjoy the splendid african views.

Room Tip: ask for a first row tent with a nice view, not close to the restaurant

I stayed with a few friends in the tents. They tents are very clean and spacious with a bathroom attached to their back and a big fun porch. You can have a hot shower if you ask in advance. The food was decent but not anything to write home about. You are just outside the park and can see zebras and waterbucks right from your porch! I think it was a bit overpriced.
