“Cosy cottage with excellent facilities”
Reviewed 20 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

There was something for everyone! We arrived early Friday evening and took a stroll around the lake while the teenagers enjoyed the swimming pool and spa. In the morning we headed off to Low Newton for a wonderful coastal walk to Dunsborough Castle, then back for a "family" swim. Great facilities in the cottage enabled us to enjoy a relaxed evening and Sunday was spent at Alnwick Castle. A really enjoyable weekend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in this gorgeous cottage. We were looking for a family friendly alternative to a hotel room as we have a 3yr old and a baby. This cottage exceeded our expectations. Beautifully presented, it had everything that we needed. A comfortable living area with well equipped kitchen including washing machine, dishwasher and tumble. The modern bathroom had plenty of hot water and towels. Bedrooms also on the ground floor so safe and handy with the kids. Lots of lovely touches throughout. Good wifi. Very cosy with underfloor heating. The courtyard was very peaceful and we had great sleep without any unwanted noises.
We also made use of the facilities...a lovely garden area with some outdoor toys, the games room and the pool. The pool was very quiet and warm and only a minute from the back door of the cottage. We also wandered down towards a lovely lake and spotted lots of rabbits!
Communication with Colin was first rate...he responded quickly to all booking enquiries and he was helpful and informative.
Booking cottages can sometimes feel like a gamble but you can rest assured that this one is gorgeous, very clean and offers all you need for a lovely relaxing break. Thank you Colin!

“Lovely cottage in stunning location, everything we needed!”
Reviewed 21 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Cosy, well equipped cottage in a quad of about 20 other cottages, a converted old farm building. Set on the edge of the beautiful Cheviot Hills, we were close to everywhere we wanted to go, the leisure facilities were high quality (although the pool was small so if busy was overcrowded, wish we'd had it to ourselves!) the only downside was the very noisy boiler outside the double bedroom which woke us in the night, and the shower was weak, but everything else was perfect!

Hi Ruth,
I am really pleased you enjoyed your stay. The boiler is in an adjoining building but I will certainly look into it. We would love to welcome you back again in the future. Best Regards, Colin & Yvonne.

“A hidden gem!”
Reviewed 30 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Just returned from this beautiful cosy cottage situated near to Powburn about 10 miles from Alnwick, Northumberland and loved it! The cottage was excellently equipped throughout which catered for 4 people. It has central heating and under floor heating in some areas! It is on the Breamish Valley Cottage site (but does not belong to Breamish Valley Cottages). Guests have the use of a gym, swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and games room. Plenty of walks and ideal for birdwatchers at the nearby lake. We felt so at home here and intend to go back.
