Visiting this place for the first time last week was unbelievable. Seeing the pictures are beautiful but in reality the pictures don't do this place justice. The views are breathtaking. When you visit Jamaica you want to see and feel the true culture of the country. Living here not only you're close to the local beaches but also to the country side and the locals. It gives you the best of both worlds. The mansion is beautifully built with plenty of space. I would definitely recommend this to people who are unsure on where to visit in Jamaica because it satisfies all the needs and things a person wants to do.
The garden is huge and not to mention fresh fruits and coconuts everyday. What's there not to love. Must visit!!! For me this is the best way to see real Jamaican culture, enjoy the real Jamaican food and enjoy the real Jamaican views. Paradise.
The Whitehouse is set in the hills of Rose Hall Junction St Elizabeth in the less tourist area of the South coast of Jamaica. The house offers some amazingly beautiful views, tranquillity and peace! The booking process was smooth, and we received appropriate communication and direction by the home owners from the outset. We hired a car, and drove to the house, however, it can be tricky to find if you are not familiar with the area. However this was not a problem as we were met by the homeowners staff in the main town of Junction, and we were then led to the house itself. I believe that the home owner can arrange airport pick up should you need it. The Whitehouse really represented Jamaican hospitality at its very best! The staff did everything to accommodate us and to ensure that our stay was very enjoyable. On arrival to the Whitehouse, we were warmly greeted by Claudette Thomas and her staff. There were Jamaican fruit punches and sorrel all round. We received a complimentary welcome basket which was an added touch. Staff provided a tour of the house and its facilities. The house was clean, cool, and had all the necessary amenities. All bedrooms were ensuite, pleasantly decorated and comfortable. We were also provided with a mobile phone for local calls, and staff were easily reachable should their assistance be necessary. For example we locked ourselves out and staff were there in minutes to assist. Breakfast was included, and we were offered the choice of a continental breakfast or a traditional Jamaica breakfast. We opted for the Jamaican breakfast. During our stay breakfast really was a delight! We were treated to ackee and saltfish, plantains, breadfruit, cornmeal porridge, green banana, eschovetich fish, fresh herbal teas, Jamaican hot cocoa, it was truly superb! All food was locally grown and fresh. For the fussy eaters in our family cereal, bacon, eggs, was also provided.
There really wasn't any negatives on our part. However the property is located off the beaten track, so you will need to hire a car, or book transportation/tours with the property owner who is extremely helpful
I stayed here for the first time by hearing about The White House from a friend who has visited this property before. I was amazed to see how big the mansion is, the pictures are no where near as beautiful as when you step into the home. The home has many rooms all with different colour themes. We stayed in the executive suite which had its own jacuzzi and walk in shower. I was also travelling with my new born and was given a cot and mosquito net. The Breakfast was your a simple continental style. The views are amazing and you have the best sunsets and sunrises. Me and my partner always made sure to have our evening meal on the terrace as it was always so romantic. In terms of transport we had our hired own car so it was very accessible to get to all the famous tourists areas in St.Elizabeth. We received an arrival pack which informed us of any additional services. The mini shopping grocery list was fantastic as it had everything from alcoholic beverages to sweets to baby nappies, which made it very convenient for me.
