If you are considering Dominica then you are an adventure seeker and want to experience something out of the realm of the usual main-stream tourist destinations. Good for you!! The island is amazing and fresh and unspoiled.
You will love Pointe Dubique B & B!! Pointe Dubuque is a beautiful house in an amazing little area with ocean on two sides, one of which was the best shell finding beach I've ever visited.
The B&B is two story. Downstairs are two bedrooms with nice large bath and sitting area looking out to the pool. Very private. Upstairs is where you eat breakfast and share time with the owners, John and Michele. The breakfasts are not the usual B&B fare -- they are huge and delicious and John's lattes have Starbucks beat all to hell. We had several dinners there as well (the price is totally reasonable!) and they were A.Maz.Ing!! Highly recommend you try a few out.
The small pool at the B&B was delightful. After a few days of sight-seeing we stayed in and read by the pool -- wonderful!! The grounds are really beautiful and private. The above mentioned 'shell-beach' is a nice daily walk -- literally across the street and down a steep path from Pointe Dubuque.
John and Michele were a wealth of information on everything island related -- history, places to eat, visit and even the local massage therapist is a friend of theirs. They have really embraced the island and love to share local lore and best places to go.
We started calling it Vacation Boot Camp because John and Michele kept telling us about places to go and see and we would come back every night totally exhausted from trying to fit it all in! Hiking was great. The little towns were awesome. The beaches to die for. Dominica is a special place but without John and Michele we would have been lost.

Room Tip: Both rooms are equally nice.

beautiful house, gorgeous area, private, clean and spacious, fantastic hosts. John and Michele went above and beyond - they are sending us something we forgot, found a home for an abandoned puppy we found, and made us a fabulous dinner complete with cocktail hour and stimulating conversation. We wish we'd stayed longer!!!

Michele and John are welcoming hosts and brilliant cooks too. We enjoyed our stay; it was comfortable and we appreciated our own pool. It's a great base to explore the stunning mountains, rivers and beaches of the north east of Dominica. We look forward to returning.

Room Tip: Both room are comfortable ,quiet and access to own pool. Garden views.

John and Michele really made us feel welcome, the rooms were lovely, nice bathroom, comfortable beds, PLUS a great breakfast! Highly recommend this the place in Calibishie for a charming stay. There is a beach down a short trail right across from their B &B.
