Owner description: The big draw for many visitors is Skye, just a short 30 minute crossing from the mainland and yet a whole other world away once there. But don't let that overshadow the many charms of Raasay and the Small Isles too.

We have been on many CalMac ferries over the last 9 years touring Scotland and all it's islands in our motorhome. Our most recent one was Ardrossan to Brodick on the Isle of Arran and back in May 2018. As usual it was a delight to be there. Speedy, efficient boarding, a good meal in the cafe each way and a punctual arrival makes a trip on a CalMac ferry very pleasant. Good value too. We look forward to many more.

Sailing was good but when at booking office previous day encountered member of staff who was rude about French customers and told me ferry I wanted to book was full. He did this without even checking. On returning the following day no problem with making the booking as per same details. Different staff member needless to say

Made the crossing with our tour group so we didn't have to deal with tickets or staff. There were seats on top of the ferry with a great view.

Took the ferry from Mallaig to Armadale and really wanted to sing the Skye boat song but the husband said no thank you. We did not have a car, but we did make online reservations and printed our tickets ahead of time. Not sure if we had to, but it felt good to have tickets. Very reasonable service and lovely views from the seats on top of the ferry, where most of the passengers gathered, including a group of motorcycle riders who looked down and kept an eye on their bikes. It was a great summer day and the ferry staff on the boat were friendly and cheerful.

Indifferent to customers and really poor customer service. Wrong information given by customer service assistants. Shame they have the monopoly on the services to the Islands as I would love to use a different comoany
