Wonderful Stay, Highly Recommend Attadale!
We loved Attadale, including Strathan House, the beautiful gardens, and windswept walks. The estate even has a bothy, something I have always wanted to see! We held a reunion of friends, and Strathan House was super, with its big kitchen for companionable meals, while also having lots of space to spread out in the sitting room and four comfortable bedrooms. The hosts Joanna and Alec were so friendly and helpful, and this part of the world is most definitely worth a week-long visit. So very beautiful. Skye nearby, and lots of day trips. Highly recommend a stay at Attadale in Strathan House.

Loved Our Visit and Will Return Soon!
We had a marvellous stay at Attadale, which is ideally located for exploring Skye and this stunning area of the Highlands. Our hosts were welcoming and available for questions, the estate itself full of walks, wildlife and of course, the beautiful Attadale gardens. Strathan House was roomy, comfortable and well-appointed. Having flown in from various parts of the USA, we could not have chosen a better place to gather for an active, yet relaxing vacation. Highly recommend visiting Attadale. We loved Applecross Pass, then back round via Craig, the Fairy Pools and Skye, Amadale Castle, Eilean Donan Castle, and Plockton for fish 'n chips.

A really good experience
Lochcarron is a truly beautiful area in the north west highlands. So this is the second time that I have stayed at Strathan House, which has charm and character in abundance ample accommodation for eight persons with a cosy lounge with a lovely wood fire to take the chill from a cool October evening, with central heating as well, just right. There are two full bathrooms on the ground floor, one of which recently refurbished includes a walk in shower. there is also a bedroom on the ground floor ideal for those that don't do stairs so well anymore. The gardens are magnificent as indeed all of the surrounding countryside is. The village on the opposite side of the loch has all the amenities one could need, so what are you waiting for? Just go and enjoy.

Perfect Highland Retreat
As a group of young hill walkers, we went to be close to the Northern Highland Hills, we loved the Attadale estate, so many places to explore. Our hosts went above and beyond to welcome us! The Gardens on the estate are stunning. The house has a good layout with two full bathrooms, we loved all the comfy lounge, well equipped kitchen.

Beautiful house, stunning scenery, warm welcome - perfect in every way!
We cannot recommend Attadale cottages highly enough! We stayed in Strathan House when we were visiting as a family group of eight and we loved it so much we booked into East Bothy when there was then just two of us. Strathan house is spacious, clean, well equipped and a wonderful house for a get-together and outdoor activities. My twin nieces loved the secret staircase to their room at the top of the house. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore. When you get home at night it wonderful to light a fire and gather round to chat and play games. Just magic in every way! The area is simply stunning with mountains, lochs and the famous and not so elusive deer on our doorstep. There's lots to do in the local area: cycling, walking, climbing, kayaking - most of which is right on the doorstep. You don't have to walk far to find a Munro. There's lots of fantastic local eateries too which sell local game, fish, shellfish, delicacies etc. Plockton, Skye, Lochcarron and Applecross are all nearby. The welcome from Joanna and her team makes Attadale feel like a home from home. There's also Attadale Gardens on the estate which you can wander around at your leisure, which are beautiful as well as being manicured and maintained to perfection. We live in Scotland and are always overwhelmed by its magnificence, beauty and rugged charm however, even with that in mind this is one very very special place we love!

A hidden gem in the Highlands
Another wonderful stay in Attadale, iStathern house superb, exceptionally well equipped ,clean and cosy.we can also say the same for east and west bothy. All dog friendly. Long walks on the estate never fails to amaze and this year there was snow on higher ground which made the views almost magical. Attadale is located next to the village of Lochcarron which has its own charm,a visit to Applecross a must and of course the isle of Skye is only about 30 minutes away. Deer in abundance on the estate whom often venture down to the cottages in the late evening, making the stay even more enchanting. Would recommend to anyone

Comfortable and well-situated highland getaway
The largest of three estate houses tucked away in the Attadale estate. Just a few minutes off the main road, but enough to give a sense of seclusion. The other two houses were about 30 metres away, but we never heard a peep out of them. The house is interestingly shaped inside, and warm (free wood for the open fire was a nice touch). Two bathrooms/toilets for four double bedrooms, neither en suite, but this didn't bother us even with all rooms full. You get satellite WiFi, but not fast enough to stream, nor is there TV reception. I see both of these as a plus for an outdoors holiday. The location is fantastic: plenty of nice hills very nearby (Fuar Tholl is a gem); Torridon less than 30mins away; 45 minutes to Blaven in Skye. Some of the nearby glens (including Attadale itself) are currently having micro-hydro power installed, and are a bit disfigured by the bulldozed access roads. But at least there's little noise from the works, so they're only visually intrusive. And you can't argue that this isn't in a good cause; in a year or two it will all have blended back in. So overall this was great - and not overpriced for what you get, unlike quite a few other properties in the area.

Spacious house, beautiful site and ideally situated to explore the region.
We stayed here as two families with teenagers so we greatly appreciated the size and numbers of rooms which allowed everyone to have sufficient space. The beds were v comfortable. Facilities with showers were all functional and the dishwasher was well used. The owner was friendly and cared that we had all we needed and enjoyed our holiday. We got to see the Highland games that were being organised within the grounds. The attadale site meant you were away from any roads and felt v remote but could still pop up the road to the local shops. Tescos were able to deliver. Internet access was available but like all the area slow and not suitable for streaming. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful and remote setting, absolute tranquillity, ideal for walkers.
We stayed in Strathan House as a family of only four, which meant there was plenty of space for all and enough room for wet boots and big rucksacks without making the place feel cluttered. Everything is very well organised and the deer really do come and look through the window at night! The location is perfectly quiet and remote (just what we wanted), but with a car it is also easy to reach "civilisation" should one wish to (e.g. day trips to Skye or Applecross); the estate tracks (easier than climbing through squelching moor on wet days...) allow plenty of beautiful walks of any length required and Coulags, as a starting point for walking into the Southern Torridon Hills is but a short drive away. The gardens are beautiful and the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The children also very much enjoyed playing at the rivers and pools, of which there is no shortage. We definitely will return!
