“A delightful hidden Irish gem”
Reviewed 30 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

What a wonderful little gem. Charming, homely cottage in an ideally situated location, close enough to the city but far enough out to be amongst some of the prettiest and most interesting places of history to visit. Our hosts Boyd and Geraldine were most welcoming and we were amazed at the facilities and amenities within the cottage - a real 'home from home' The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and was indeed very welcome, , in fact we really only needed to take ourselves and our clothes - everything was already there for us. We travelled with our 3 English Springer Spaniels who were made most welcome and made themselves quite at home so if they were settled then so were we. Beautiful coastline - ideal for the dogs to have a blast along the many safe beaches and lots to do inland with the beautiful Abbey and Jazz in the Park at Mount Stewart on the doorstep - we were spoiled for choice for things to cram into our short stay.. The Wildfowler restaurant in the village is certainly worth a visit but be sure to take your appetite with you - excellent food and really reasonably priced and be sure to check out the farm shop next door to the cottage - just so much choice from your local friendly butcher. Everyone was so friendly and happy to pass the time of day with us and the dogs we really have a new vacation destination to add onto the list. Most definitely a beautiful place to stay with the added bonus of fabulous accommodation and great hosts. Thank you both ... we will be back xx

“Comfortable and well equipped, great location”
Reviewed 6 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed at 38 Main Street for a long weekend as we were in the area for a friend's wedding. The cottage was large enough to accommodate ourselves, our 5 month old daughter, and two other friends attending the wedding. The owner, Boyd, had gone to the trouble of ensuring we had food for breakfast as well as all the essentials such as milk, tea, coffee etc, he even helped us jump start our hire car so that we didn't miss our flight home. All aspects of using the cottage such as heating, hot water, etc were well explained and there was plenty of information as to suggested activities. We had a beautiful drive around the Ards peninsula following the Mourne coastal route. Thank you so much!

“Nice little cottage”
Reviewed 23 March 2015 for a stay in August 2014

As we have relatives in the area, (Newtownards and Ardkeen) this cottage was nicely central for us, Could come and go at the times suitable to us, and not feel we were imposing on anybody. All the room we needed, two double beds, enough wardrobe space, good sized kitchen, welcome breakfast pack. Farm shop virtually next door for meat, bread etc, and a general shop over the road. Parking seems safe on the road in front of the cottage, and if you don't mind a steep lane, the cottage has private parking at the rear. Took my own computer, and connected to the internet which the owner has made available. All in all, a good experience.

Actually it surpassed my expect ions will all the comforts of home apart from my clothes I only neede to bring a tooth brush every thing else was provided - The owners were very helpful and friendly - I went back twice more.
