Very nicely decorated restaurant.
My first visit here, heard good things about it. There is a nice varied selection of fish as well as the usual chippy favourites.
Large cod was nicely cooked and the chips were lovely, soft and fluffy on the inside.
Music was a bit rubbish though.

Thank David K

Following all of the great reviews plus a friend's recommendation, my wife and another couple decided to give Fishy Delishy a go last night. We travelled 20 miles, so had high expectations. We could not fault the friendly and attentive service and, as for the food, surprisingly good for a casual eatery. Ambience and decor were first class considering the price point. I would have given 5 stars but for two issues. My dessert, sticky toffee pudding, was very dry and the tiny dollop of ice cream (£1 extra!) was of the cheap variety. I would have overlooked this but for the final sting in the tail. Upon paying the bill (in cash) there was over £7 due in change. We had already decided this would be our tip. However, we were never given any change and so the staff had assumed this was for them. Yes, it was, but out of courtesy we should have had the cash returned in order to give us, the customer, the choice of whether the tip was deserved. Imagine if we were unhappy with the service and had to ask for our £7 back - very embarrassing and humiliating! Note to manager: please never assume.....and review this practice immediately!

Returning here with a group of friends and although I gave it 5 starts last review this time was a different experience. The food was very good, and there was one male waiter who was also good, thats why the score isn't the lowest I felt I should have given it. There was 9 guys all eating and drinking as we enjoy our food and drink. Now the negatives, we had to constantly wave down the staff to give any order, including our initial food order. Whenever we asked if they had anything in particular we was rudely snapped at by the waitress "its not on the menu!" We wanted to order more food but we was told what we've ordered is more than enough and she wanted to stop taking our order but we had to insist we wanted more food. Eventually she walked off and to sum it off we can eat a lot and we was all still hungry. We constantly again had to wave down the staff for drinks also. Some food was sold out that we ordered, some food and drink was forgotten about and when reminded them we again was snapped at "its coming!". To be honest our bill was £400 and would have easy done another £200 on top of that if we was given the chance and made it a regular eating spot. I never saw an owner/manager that evening, I feel it would have been a different experience if they was there. May be a long time if we decide to return. Good food, one waiter was good, but the other ruined part of our experience.

Visited Fishy Delishy with my family (parents, wife and two children (6 and 3).

It was early evening (5:30ish) on Easter Saturday and the restaurant was not busy – not empty by any stretch but not busy. It’s not your usual ‘fish and chip’ restaurant in that the tables are nicely laid with wine glasses, napkins etc, they serve a full range of alcoholic drinks including draught lager but it has a nice friendly atmosphere and is suitable for children etc. The menu is what you would expect for a restaurant that is linked to a takeaway with the usual items from the menu included – fish and chips, sausage and chips but there are plenty of other mainly Mediterranean inspired items on there including calamari, hummus, grilled fish, octopus etc that you would not find on a chip shop menu. We weren’t particularly adventurous with all of us having fish and chips although we did have calamaris and hummus to start which were both really good – the calamari had a nice light batter and were not oily at all. Having used the takeaway we knew the fish and chips would be good and we were not disappointed. It’s not that cheap considering you are getting a ‘takeaway’ meal on a plate but the meal and service was good and it’s definitely worth a visit if you are in the area (especially as there is a distinct lack of competition in the vicinity!!).

Was invited to come here for a meal with my family and all i can say is what a great restaurant.

Food was delicious and the service was top dollar.

The waitresses could not do enough for you - always at hand and mega friendly.

What ever the reason make sure you give this place a visit - you won't be disappointed.
