“Great place to stay!”
Reviewed 29 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

This is a wonderful place, very private in the Tuscan countryside with fantastic views. We spent three nights here while attending our daughter's wedding nearby, and we loved the place. And kudos to the hosts who went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

“Great position and great hosts!”
Reviewed 29 March 2017 for a stay in May 2016

We all loved this Tuscan farmhouse and its proximity to the medieval towns such as Pienza, Siena and Montalcino makes all the difference. Yet, if you want to come back and spend the day at the pool or with a great book, this place can't get any better.

“This was the perfect 'home base' for exploring the Sienese area of Tuscany.”
Reviewed 7 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The Casanova Farmhouse at Castelnuovo Tancredi was a wonderful location and accommodation for exploring Tuscany, especially the area near Siena. We were traveling with our daughter, and our son and his wife, so there were 5 of us. The farmhouse is spacious and gracious. We each had big bedrooms and could easily share the two bathrooms. The historic charm makes it a memorable place to stay. Each night as we drove up to the farmhouse we saw interesting wildlife: deer, wild boars (babies), porcupines (the first I had ever seen in the wild!), hares, etc. The views are breathtaking, too. The historic town of Buonconvento with its banks, grocery store, cute shops, is less than a 10 minute drive away. The pool looked inviting, but it was a bit too cool to swim while we were there. It was cold enough one night that we built. fire in the large, old fireplace. It helped to warm up the rooms!

“Nice, large apartment in converted farmhouse”
Reviewed 11 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We were two families sharing the Casanova apartment in the Castelrotto farm house and we loved our stay. The apartment and its furniture was of high quality, the only occasional noise was from actual farming equipment, the pool was what we hoped for, and the surroundings were great. The town of Buonconvento is less than ten minutes away and had all necessities. Montalcino was not much more than 30 minutes away and we also easily made trips to Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano, and Volterra. The owner Lee was easy to deal with though we never met her in person. (The basket of wine and food that greeted us on arrival was a nice touch.) The only real minus I can think of was that some of us (not me personally) found the beds/mattresses uncomfortable. Internet access would have been nice, but there's some value to being off the grid once in a while. However, I can heartily recommend this property to anyone, especially a large family or two families like us.
