We decided to stay in Polignano a Mare after seeing it in a movie and because it is the home town of one of our friends in Australia. He says that most people drive straight past and miss a wonderful place - he's right! It is a stunning town and the B&B Casa Dorsi is a fabulous place to stay right in the heart of the old town, a stone's throw from the sea. We stayed in the Suite Acqua which is really a small, ancient two storey house with an amazing roof terrace. Carlo & Annalisa are extremely kind and helpful. Carlo made restaurant reservations for us and recommended the best gelaterias. Breakfast was excellent and served in the small square in front of the B&B. The old town is pedestrian only so parking is approximately 400 metres away. This is not a problem, however, because a rickshaw service is available and works very well. B&B Casa Dorsi and Polgnano a Mare were highlights of our six week trip around Italy. We can't wait to go back.

We literally booked this place sitting in Pescaria grabbing a bite to eat with nowhere to stay in Polignano that night. Before we knew it a bike had picked us up and had taken us to the door of Casa Dorsi, right in the heart of a gorgeous part of the town.

The room was fairly basic and not large, but very comfortable. The WiFi could have been better. But when you're in such a lovely spot who needs WiFi?

Giancarlo made a great coffee and was very helpful. Breakfast was great.

Highly recommended!

Stayed in the A Mare room. This is on 4 levels. First is entry off street with a sofa bed, then next is bedroom with bath, then kitchen with bath (no shower) then the top is terrace with sea view.
Everything is very cramped and the stairs are a pain, especially with a loaded suitcase. There is an elevator but got a half-assed reason why it is not in use. Why would you put it in and not use it?? C'mon!
It was really noisy Sunday until a late hour, but next two nights quietened down. Problem is that is right on the path to a great grotto lookout and the noise ia amplified bt the narrowness. Bring ea4 plugsM

Breakfast is same thing everyday. It's okay but nothing special.
Window and door hardware in the room is real cheap compared to other Puglian B&B's.
Parked in the reserved parking lot. Note that it is right beside the public lot and is with a sliding gate. This was not made clear by Carlo even after asking him several times.

- very helpful, informative owner (Carlo)
- excellent location, great views
- clean, comfortable accommodations
- great breakfast
- highly recommended (and I'm picky)
- only con: cramped shower (big whoop)
- so book it already

From the get go we were impressed. Carlo patiently answered our pre trip emails, arranged our pickup and transfer from (and back to) Bari airport and warmly welcomed us on arrival - even arranged a 1 day car rental.

The Breakfasts were excellent and plentiful - can't say enough about the much needed morning coffees (ah, jet lag). My wife and I were in suite acqua and enjoyed the rooftop terrace - sun for me shade for her. Views all round were great. Bed was very comfortable.

Located on a busy square you get to enjoy the vitality of the evening promenade. May be too noisy for some but it just added to our enjoyment and experience of the Italian culture and "the place". I took earplugs based on reviews by others and did not use them.

We had reservations at La Grotta so we couldn't take part in Carlo's cooking class/meal (he's a school teacher and teaches cooking - so he knows a thing or 2 about Italian cuisine) but according to other guests it is well worth it, informative and fun.

You won't regret staying here.

What an absolute treat it was to stay at Casa Dorsi. In a perfect location right in the old town of Polignano, with beautiful views from the terraces available to all residents (although whenever we used it we were the only ones there!). Carlo and Annalisa were the perfect hosts and ensured all was wonderful during our stay.
Definitely take part in one of Carlo's cooking lessons if you can - it was a lot of fun with delicious food and wine!

I can't wait to visit Casa Dorsi again and would recommend it for anyone looking to stay in the stunning Polignano.
