“Wonderful Santorini Visit”

We stayed at Villa Gaia for almost a week in July 2015 and had an amazing experience. Our hosts were very accommodating for our needs, supported us with advice, directions, and answers to our questions (both before our arrival and during our stay). The accommodations were fantastic, comfortable, and met our expectations in every way. Our stay at Villa Gaia was the high point of our 6 country European trip.

Liked best: Host / Hostess support in preparations and activity scheduling.
Liked least: Entrance to property was on busy street, but easy walking to cafe, grocery, etc.

“Awesome way to spend 6 days with my great family”
Reviewed 20 August 2014 for a stay in June 2014

The Property Manager (Petros) organised our airport transfers and car rental (with a company located directly above our villas) which worked out brilliantly. We were then met by a very helpful host who led us down pathways to our villas and gave us all the info we needed. We were blown away by the spectacular view from the villas that were terraced on the cliffside and the cave-like dwelling of the lower villa. The property suited my family that included my husband and I, two sisters and their husbands plus my daughter and partner who stayed a few nights with us. The top villa had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the bottom villa had 1 main bedroom plus a double day bed and 2 bathrooms which meant we all had privacy. Each villa had its own kitchen which we did not use much, preferring to eat out.
The villas were very clean and serviced every day by a friendly cleaner who turned the outdoor spa temperature up for us as we preferred it hotter.
Some amenities/utensils were lacking, ie. one toaster for the two villas, one working stereo system, one iron, a shortage of glasses and cups if entertaining in one villa. The lounge in the top villa needed upgrading but overall we felt we received value for money.
The location was great with three restaurants directly above us, a couple of smallish supermarkets (that sold alcohol), a bakery, bus stop and Alto Car Rentals where we could park our hired car at all times.
A 20 minute picturesque walk via Firostefani into Fira one way and a 2.5 hr adventurous hike to Oia the other way.
The best feature of this experience was the view from the kitchens, spa, balcony and especially from the rooftop (no OH&S issues in Santorini).
